Re: LED in the door **UPDATE**

Which LED is everyone referring to. I see that my doors have some but also noticed that where the handle is looks like there is a spot that should have led but its always dark

There are two accent LEDs in both the driver and passenger door. One is above the map pocket and the other is in the door handle pocket. If you feel around you can feel the openings for the lights.

I see the one for the map pocket but the door handle one is the one that is not light but I can see that there is a frost colored smaller piece that looks like it has an LED in it. I guess I will have to make a trip to the dealer soon to get that corrected.

Re: LED in the door **UPDATE**

Well I just got back from the dealer and they say my Laredo X doesn't have them. How do I get a build sheet with or without the LBRS code? Not sure if they tried the reconfigure or not, figure I need some more info before I go back and ask them to look at this again. Also like someone else said when I look up in the holes I can see a blue wire but nothing that looks like LED lights. Pictures would be great

Re: LED in the door **UPDATE**

Here is two shots of the led above the map pocket. I used a mirror so I had the camera pointed at the mirror which is angled up to see the led. You can also pull out the driver's side window controls and you will see one blue and one black wire going to the led. You can fit your hand in there and trace the wires to the opening and you should feel the led housing. If anyone needs better pictures let me know and I'll try to get some better ones.

The greenish thing is the led, you can see the blue and black wires going into the housing

Here's another shot, don't mind my purple mirror

Re: LED in the door **UPDATE**

2nd trip to dealer, drove out with lights still not on. They said that yes the lights are there, but they tried the reconfigure method and no luck. They then called Star and when they discussed it there was no remedy for this.
I printed out descriptions, the schematic and took my laptop so they could see others have had them fixed. Any one in the Tampa area had this done? Maybe I could try a different dealer but I'd hate to get the same run around.

Re: LED in the door **UPDATE**

Like some my dealer couldn't grasp the concept of reconfiguring my TPIM so I decided to fix the problem myself. I rewired the LED drivers to the window switch lights so that they are on anytime switched power is on. I took the lazy route and just shoved the wires into the connecters as a temporary fix however two months later everything works fine. I used dto.vftis.com/mopar/disclaimer.asp to find out which wires go where although it was a PITA.

The first step is removing the two fasteners holding the door panel to the door. Both fasteners are hidden behind covers which are easily pried off. The door handle fastener is a philips screw whereas the grab handle fastener is a 7mm bolt.

Next I removed the window switch assy., which can be pried out with your fingers and disconnected the wiring harness

Next I removed the door panel. This is the most difficult part. The door panel is held on by numerous friction plugs which are very stubborn the first time you remove them. I started in the lower outside corner and just kept working my way around. Quite a bit of force is needed to remove the panel.

Disconnect the connecter in the upper front corner of the panel

The backside of the driver side door panel

Now for the connections, all I did was run a jumper wire from the LED drivers to a switched power source.
On the drivers side I connected one side of my jumper to Orange/Tan wire on the 4 wire harness labeled as C302 - (DOOR_DRIVER) 4 WAY - Driver door handle lamp driver on vftis.com.

I connected the other end of the jumper to the Pink/Yellow wire on the window switch connecter labeled as SWITCH-WINDOW/DOOR LOCK-DRIVER (EXPRESS WINDOW) - LT. GRAY (DOOR_DRIVER) 14 WAY - fused run/assy. relay output on vftis.com.

I then taped both connections in place.

I repeated the process on the passenger side, connecting the Orange/LG wire on the C307 - (DOOR_PASS) 4 WAY connecter - passenger door handle lamp driver to the Orange/Tan wire on the window switch connecter labeled as SWITCH-WINDOW/DOOR LOCK-PASSENGER - GREEN (DOOR_PASS) 10 WAY - passenger window switch illumination driver.
The lighting is horrible however you can see the door handle light and some of the map pocket light.

I hope this helps and if anyone has any questions feel free to PM me.
