Re: LED lights in the door panels not turning on

CC called the dealer and told them to reconfig the TIPM, they did that and they came right on. On the way home it was still light out but I could see lights and they are pretty bright. Just as bright as the Limited's LED's. Dealer had no issues with it at all. It is ambient light, not anything you could read by but you can see them very easily

YEah, I am thinking they flashed the ESC?(even after I told them TIPM!) If you can see them in light, they're fixed. I do not see anything in the dark!
Do you have the # for CC you called? I can give them my dealers number to get this straight?
Glad yours are fixed, it gives me hope!

Re: LED lights in the door panels not turning on

For those of you who have had your L.E.D.s turned on, please post the dealership in which had accomplished this. I attempted to have my local dealership do this, and they came up empty. They called Jeep customer care and they offered to open a case and have a tech keep my jeep for a few days to figure the problem out. The service manager asked if I knew anyone who has had theirs turned on, and if so to get the name of the dealership that did it. He would just call them up and ask them how they did it.

Thanks in advance.

Re: LED lights in the door panels not turning on

Does anyone have more specific information about how to reset / reprogram the TIPM? My dealer has no idea and is threatening to charge me for their time to research an issue that should by now be known. Classic dealership.

Go to a different dealership, seriously. Mine never even questioned me, didn't charge me or make me argue with them.

Re: LED lights in the door panels not turning on

Check 1st at night to make sure the LED's have not worked lose and dropped down inside the door panels. The LED's are in the front doors only. This has happened to a few forum members either at delivery or soon after delivery. Usually only happens on 1 side, but perhaps yours did it on both sides. Then just fish the LED out and snap it back into proper position on the door panel. Both the door handle recess and the lower storage/cupholder area on both doors should be illuminated. You should be able to see the LED by removing the door handle recess trim plate, or easier to look up inside the lower cupholder area.

If this is not the case for you, search the forum for this entire thread and the other threads where this was discussed in much detail - including information on how to convince a dealer that your GC is supposed to have the LED's (all GC's do, even the base model). Best luck.

Re: LED lights in the door panels not turning on

Thanks for the info. Can anyone share what dealer was able to do this? I will have my local dealer contact them and try to resolve.

I have a 2011 Laredo X. I'm having the same problem with my led lights in the door handle and map pocket. I took my jeep in to the dealer Friday morning. After reading some posts on this thread I told the dealer that resetting the power module ought to do the trick. No luck. They came back with the same excuse that a few of you have been getting that the lights are on they are just too dim to see. Which I think is BS. They also told me that there is no reset of reconfig or "flash" of the TIPM for my vehicle!!? Is this accurate? What can I do or say to get this problem resolved. I am just as frustrated with it as I'm sure many of you are. Is there a case number from Customer Care or anything else I can do or say to get this problem resolved? Thanks for the help!

Re: LED lights in the door panels not turning on

They will have to reconfig the TIPM; I think that some dealers are just not that catering to customers. Mine will do any updates that are available when I bring it in for something, but I know some dealers wont do that. As I have said before on this thread try to find another dealer.

The lights wont be noticeable during the day, but at night they are pretty bright. There is no question they are on, on long night drives out in the middle of no where I have even wanted to turn them off. You can also pull the build sheet and show it to them if they don't thi nk you have them (As some dealers have tried to say)

Re: LED lights in the door panels not turning on

Perhaps later GC were decontented and the ambient door lighting was removed.
