I purchased a new GC Laredo X last week. They needed to get it from another dealer so they gave me a base Laredo to drive till it came in. The base model had LED lights in the door where the handle is and in the map pockets. When mine came in those lights never turned on. The dealer has no idea (didn't even know they existed) and I called Detroit and they didn't have an answer either. I assume it is a setting somewhere but I can't find it. Please help.
This might help: Have you tried changing the position of the rotary wheel (beside the headlamp switch) that adjusts the interior light dimming. When taken to the end of its travel, this wheel can click to an 'off' position.
I am hoping for any new ideas here. I called a different dealer and they said they should be working. I can see the light bulbs are in there, they just aren't turning on.
If you look there are small slits up underneath the top rim of both, you need to feel for them or get on the ground and look up. The lights are recessed so you can't see them.
they are there, when i ordered mine in the dealership gave me a base model laredo with no options and it had them in it, so i was confused when my laredo x didn't have them, so i asked the dealer and they said they don't have lights so I showed them the ones in the base i drove before and they were shocked. So I found where they are located and looked on mine and sure enough i can see the bulbs, they just don't turn on.
Not yet, I got a call from Detroit today saying that they checked my VIN and they should be lit up. They also said there is no setting to turn them off so "they must have burnt out or not hooked up from factory" obviously all four LED lights didn't burn out so I took it in to have them check it and they said they would need it for a full day or two since they don't know what they are looking for. I am going on a road trip in the morning so I will figure it out when I get back.
I just took mine to my dealer's service center. I did indeed find a Laredo X on the lot and confirmed that it has led's in the door panels. The shop manager is looking up my vehical with Chrysler to find out if the led's were suppose to be there from the beginning or if it was a late addition. I'll keep this thread posted when I hear back
I will need to check my build date but I picked mine up on 11/03 and they aren't working. I did call Chrysler and they checked my VIN and said that it should be working, I can see the LED's also. It just seems like some were never hooked up for some reason?I will be bringing mine in on tuesday or wednesday of this coming week to check it out.
Ok, so the dealer called me back and said that the lights are actually there and function but are so dim that the light is virtually non-existant. They're working on ordering a new set of lights.
Can everyone having problems give it a second check and see if your can see any light from the LED's whith the lights rurned on and check with a mirror etc. Just curious if the problem is a bad batch of LED's or maybe a voltage issue. Not real sure yet
Now that you mention that I felt like that was the case but wasn't sure if the bulb just looked that way cause i was shining a flashlight on it or if it was just super dim. I think mine is the same way. Thank you for sharing I will keep that in mind when I bring it in on tuesday.
Blackwolf-Any update from the dealer? I am going to take mine in on tuesday or wednesday and any help you can give me so they don't have to guess would be great. My dealership has a "special" service department, sadly they are my only choice within 40 miles.
