Looks like the lifetime Maxcare *can* be transferred, at least one time?
"One-Time Plan Transfer

A service contract can make your vehicle more valuable and easier to sell. Remaining plan coverage may be transferred to the subsequent purchaser of the vehicle at the time of vehicle sale. Maximum Care allows you to transfer your extended warranty one time in the event you sell your vehicle (a transfer fee of $50 applies in most states). "

First - it says in the left column "One-Time Plan Transfer (except Lifetime plans)". One time transfer for LIFETIME plans only in NC and FL.

Second, from earlier post (Litstluv), there is no way you can buy a LIFETIME maxcare plan with $100 deductible for $1,000 by itself on a Jeep Grand Cherokee. If it is rolled into the purchase of a vehicle then you overpaid for the vehicle. The cost of the plan to the dealer far exceeds $1,000. There is an error somewhere....

I know!!! I live in Florida so I bought the Lifetime maxcare with $100 deductible only because it should be a big selling point web I eventually sell it...I know I won't have my GC for more than say 6 years so this should really appeal to the second owner.

Same here. AAAA, bottom left corner of the page, pick your colors. I use Chestnut and the screen is white, but I can not read yellow fonts at all.

So i called Chrysler today (800-521-9922) and told them i have a buyer for my jeep (i dont but wanted to see this process) and i needed the paperwork for the lifetime warranty transfer. note- i live in NC which according to this website http://www.eservicecontracts.com/
at the very bottom is states (copy and pasted here)

Transfer Policy
*Lifetime Wraps cover ONLY the first vehicle owner/lessee and are NON-TRANSFERABLE except in North Carolina ($50 transfer fee) and Florida ($40 transfer fee).

She (Chrysler rep) said there was no provision in their contract for this transfer, however, i would need to go to my local dealership for detailed information as they're familiar with NC state laws. I'll swing by there at lunch to see what i can dig up and will post here.

Got the run around at the dealership. They said since I didn't purchase the warranty in NC it probably would not be honored. I got them to print a copy of my contract which was registered to my vin number.
On the second to last page it specifically says the purchased warranty is NOT transferable to another owner.
Does anyone know someone in Chrysler to contact? The 800 number wasn't helpful and the dealership wasn't helpful either.

A state law can't trump a contract written in another state.

I'm about to hit 12k miles and I've been looking at the lifetime deal very carefully. It's about $3000 locally and I found it for about $1000 less in another state. The difference appears to be the NC law that requires the local company to allow a single transfer.

Because of this, I've decided to stay with my current warranty.

They sold it to a consumer in NC....that's what counts. Plus the contract is really with Chrysler which does business in that state.... The dealership that writes it up is irrelevant. State law trumps the contract, period.
