Re: "Lifetime" Extended Warranty"???

Sounds like an incredible price on the Maxcare! Congrats

Did you do the TL program @ 1% below invoice?

Just curious if they charged you any DOC / Dealer Conveyance Fees?

Knowing this, my dealer mentioned a "Forever / Lifetime Bumper to Bumper" Warranty being offered by Chrysler for $2,500.00, which will cover virtually EVERYTHING for the ENTIRE TIME I OWN THE VEHICLE, no matter how long it is.

Almost seems too goo to be true, but he assured me that if I own the vehicle in twelve years, with 200k miles on it, and the tranny goes, it would be covered!

Anyone hear of this, or better yet, purchase it with their vehicle? I'd love to hear any further details anyone can share.

it covers everything but "normal" wear and tear. i just talked to the owner of a dealership and he said they have been told everything over 100k is wear and tear and will not be covered. he said he would sell me whatever i wanted but that the lifetime is a waste of money.

Re: "Lifetime" Extended Warranty"???

I've had a "sample pdf copy" emailed to me from the Warranty Company, and I really don't see that's the case. There's no way they can call anything after 100K "wear & tear". If that were the case, no warranty would be worth anything, because they'd simply set milage limits to any component and call it "wear & tear".

Some dealer are idiots, see my post above.

Call Chrysler and ask them.

Re: "Lifetime" Extended Warranty"???

I agree, if your trans goes after 100k for example, they can't tell you "well that's wear and tear, transmissions are only good for 100k". I'm pretty sure that could be a lawsuit too if they sell a 100k mile warranty and for more money a lifetime warranty but still only cover everything for 100k miles

Re: "Lifetime" Extended Warranty"???

okay a few questions.
1. i just bought an 09 Overland with 13k miles on it. It's certified so it comes with the 3/36k B2B already. Am i better off getting this warranty now or waiting until it becomes closer to the time the current B2B wears out?
2. the max care comes with roadside assistance and things like that. How exactly does that work?
3. The price goes up with more miles on the car?
4. Is there some sort of time limit on when you can purchase this? Like I have to purchase it within x amount of days of purchasing the vehicle?
5. When i order it through the website, they mail me copies of everything and I just keep it in the car with me? I'm wondering how this works.

Re: "Lifetime" Extended Warranty"???

At www.chryslerwarrantys.com it states under the "Lifetime" term (versus 5, 6, 7 years) for all three levels "Added Care Plus", "Maximum Care", and "Powertrain Care" the followiing:

"*Maximum term of 7 years/100,000 miles"

Sooo...what is covered under "lifetime" then???

Re: "Lifetime" Extended Warranty"???

Then what would be the difference between "Lifetime" and the "7 Year" contract? That makes no sense.

Did you use the dropdowns to fill in your vehicle info? You should see an option for lifetime maxcare.

Term: Lifetime Endyear: None EndMiles: None

Re: "Lifetime" Extended Warranty"???

Perhaps, under further review, it means just the starred things are limited to 7/100,00:

$100 "Sign-and-Go" Towing and Roadside Assistance*
$35/First Day Rental*
$35/Day Car Rental Allowance*
$1,000 Trip Interruption Protection*
Auto Valet Concierge Service*

My bad......I thought it was a caveat to the entire thing...
