When I bought the summit I bought the Maxcare lifetime warranty. I live in NC. It's my understand, albeit debatable, the lifetime warranty is transferable to one other owner in the states of Fl and NC?
I've been reading on the forum and there are some people the say yes, others no. Didn't know if anyone has more recent news/ experience with this process. It's worth a few grand on the sale so I want to am,e sure I get it right.
Any info/ direction is appreciated.
Sorry if what I am typing here was previously said; I don't have time to read the entire thread, but in the state of WA, to my knowledge, the lifetime contract is the only out of all other options of extended service that you cannot transfer. Maybe it is different in other states. Just wanted to point this out.

Re: Lifetime Maxcare Warranty Transfer-Help

so i spoke with a guy named Ted at Chrysler today. he said IT IS transferable 1 time in NC for a $50 fee. he said i will have to go to the dealership to get the paperwork completed.
good news thus far. no mention of the state where i bought the warranty or that coming into play.
i'll keep everyone updated as it progresses.

That SOUNDS good....but did he look up YOUR SERVICE CONTRACT and tell you that??? I've been down this road before so...you know...I am a bit skeptical. So, Ted is correct that in NC it is transferable in general...but your contract has to specify it. He probably meant to head down to the Iowa dealership!

That will b the issue as his contract specifically states no.

BINGO again...and I'm not sure what proration you get once you are outside of the 36 month / miles factory warranty. I was within mine, he isn't. Dunno how that works. But again, I have faith Iowans.

There isn't an option to create and download a PDF of that contract right from Mopar?

Re: Lifetime Maxcare Warranty Transfer-Help

I have to wait until I have an actual buyer until I can officially transfer. By all intents and purposes it's gonna be ok to transfer

I am concerned for you with that thinking. Your actual physical Iowa contract I gave you says you can't. What is your path to getting it done because most buyers will want an ironclad scenario.

Gonna be a HUGE mistake if you don't get it confirmed by Chrysler and have the form in hand. Nothing will make a deal go south at the last minute like not being able to transfer a lifetime warranty to the new owner... It's up to you in the end, but from my actual experience with this, you're best to get it resolved before you list it for sale... trust me on this one. Best of luck and let us know how it goes (I promise NOT to say I told you so... LOL).
