Maintenance Plan Question
A third party warranty is a mistake. You were lucky and some people have had great experiences. I can tell you first hand I was screwed royally by Warranty Gold. They went bankrupt years ago and it happened literally three weeks after I bought an extended warranty from them (7 years/100,000). I didn't see a CENT back of my almost $2K I spent. The first car I ever bought when I was 20 and naive saw the dealer sell me a crappy third party warranty for an extra couple of years. The transmission went bad (bad sun gear) and needed a total replacement at 36,100 miles (yes just past the factory warranty expiration) but within the third party warranty parameters. Anyway, I was without a car for TWO weeks with no loaner while I waited for the company to send a tech to VERIFY that in-fact the transmission needed to be replaced. It took over a week before they even allowed the dealer to order the new tranny since they had to come out and "inspect".
With the "too big to fail" generation that we're in, we can rely on the fact that the manufacturer will always be around and no unnecessary wait times with first day rental etc. etc.
eservicecontracts and chrylserwarranty ARE legit CHRYSLER warranties. Both sites are operated by independent dealerships. You seem to be confused about that from your post. What I don't understand is you why you paid $2300 when the going rate on the sites is less and you could have had your dealer match. Just want to make sure you're informed and save money man.
