Re: Lifetime warranty

Do these warranties require all regular scheduled maintenance to be performed at the dealer or don't they require it at all?

Re: Lifetime warranty

You have to perform maintainance per the manual, but you're not required to do it at the dealer.

You do have to go in for a free inspection once every five years to keep the lifetime warranty valid.

Re: Lifetime warranty

If you plan on keeping the vehicle for a significant amount of time, yes, it's a no-brainer!

Re: Lifetime warranty

I finally bit the bullet and purchased this last week. Thanks everyone for the input to this forum. If I find out anything that hasn't already been posted I will update it here. My Price was $2050 after using the coupon code sent to me from chrystlerwarrantys.com.

Re: Lifetime warranty

Found the lifetime warranty here for $1,860. Are there any advantages/ disadvantages to buying here http://www.eservicecontracts.com/lifetime.htm vs. the chrysler warranty direct?

Re: Lifetime warranty

When I went to the web page it had me enter my email and start the process. I canceled out of it before the purchase option. The email wth the coupon code went into my spam folder.

Re: Lifetime warranty

I believe the Chrysler warranty will show up on the owners site at Jeep.com. I would spend a little extra and get the one from Chrysler. It is also my understanding that most of the Chrysler dealers understand this plan and won't have any issues honoring the warranty. I did however have a warranty gold plan on my WJ and the warranty paid for itself several times over, so I can't down the third party ones either. According to a few however, we are "fools" for purchasing these plans:

Alpha,

A third party warranty is a mistake. You were lucky and some people have had great experiences. I can tell you first hand I was screwed royally by Warranty Gold. They went bankrupt years ago and it happened literally three weeks after I bought an extended warranty from them (7 years/100,000). I didn't see a CENT back of my almost $2K I spent. The first car I ever bought when I was 20 and naive saw the dealer sell me a crappy third party warranty for an extra couple of years. The transmission went bad (bad sun gear) and needed a total replacement at 36,100 miles (yes just past the factory warranty expiration) but within the third party warranty parameters. Anyway, I was without a car for TWO weeks with no loaner while I waited for the company to send a tech to VERIFY that in-fact the transmission needed to be replaced. It took over a week before they even allowed the dealer to order the new tranny since they had to come out and "inspect".

With the "too big to fail" generation that we're in, we can rely on the fact that the manufacturer will always be around and no unnecessary wait times with first day rental etc. etc.

eservicecontracts and chrylserwarranty ARE legit CHRYSLER warranties. Both sites are operated by independent dealerships. You seem to be confused about that from your post. What I don't understand is you why you paid $2300 when the going rate on the sites is less and you could have had your dealer match. Just want to make sure you're informed and save money man.

Re: Lifetime warranty

Hi Heminator,

Sorry to hear your experience was really bad. I was mistaken, I looked at my warranty on my WJ and it was through National. In terms of the price on the warranty, I am not going to get upset about a few hundred dollars on a 40+ thousand dollar transaction. More importantly, we are local business owners and the dealership we bought the car from sends business our way occasionally. I could have bought the car at Dave Smith in Idaho and saved more money on the warranty, but at the end of the day, we decided to take the hit on the car and the warranty and support a local business here instead.
