What are things that will void the lifetime maxcare warranty? I plan on doing on the routine maintance my self (oil, fluids, sparkplugs). Can i do this? Do i have to keep records? If i replace the sound system, will that void the warranty?

You can do your own maintenance, however, you MUST keep receipts in case there is ever a question as to whether you properly maintained your vehicle according to the owner's manual should you need to make a warranty claim under the lifetime maxcare warranty.

As far as aftermarket stuff, ONLY approved MOPAR accessories installed by a Chrysler Dealership will be included in the lifetime warranty (whether bought and installed at time of vehicle purchase or not doesn't matter). Any aftermarket stuff that isn't MOPAR that you install (such as a different radio) will NOT be included for obvious reasons. In addition, any changes you make that are not authorized MOPAR accessories and parts, can void portions of your warranty if it is proven that they caused a particular failure that you are making a claim against. I hope this helps.

Re: Lifetime warranty

I waited a few days after I logged into the site and they sent me a coupon for $25 off. Not a big savings but was already the cheapest that i had found.

So if i change out the speakers and some time later the transmission goes belly up, they would still cover it because the after market speakers have nothing to do with the transimision?

Re: Lifetime warranty

Got the warranty, I put the application in on a Saturday. Monday afternoon my card was charged and it shows up on my account on the Jeep website! No sales tax was taken as well. $2045 total out the door! So for Ny if I went to my dealer and purchased it there, I would have had to gotten it for $1877 w/tax to come out with the same out of pocket cost as online.
Great deal in my opinion!!

Are you all sure about the dealership charging you sales tax? I purchased mine from the dealer I purchased my truck from here in TX (purchased in Houston even though I live in San Antoino) and he didn't charge me sales tax. I would call to make sure since my experience was that my dealership I purchased my Ram from matched the online price and didn't charge me sales tax. I even just looked at the receipt from 2009 to confirm.

Indeed. My dealer told me they make their profit from people who trade their car every eighteen months. I drove my previous vehicle for eighteen years.

For me, the lifetime warranty is insurance. I don't have to take risks, I can afford insurance. If a lot of stuff breaks, I win. If nothing breaks, I still win.

Possibly stupid question, for the lifetime warranty, is there any mileage restrctions? Like can only drive so many miles a year or so many miles total?

For Chrysler lifetime warranty there is no mileage restriction. However, there is a clause that if at some point warranty repair costs more than a vehicle itself Chrysler can just refund you a vehicle price and warranty will no longer be valid.

No miles restriction, although there is an inspection requirement (free) around 50 or 60,000 miles.

The lifetime is limited, however, by vehicle value. The coverage will end when the repair costs more than the value of the vehicle... so the higher the mileage the less its value... indirectly there is a mileage limit.

Off hand I don't know which book they use to determine the value.

There is no mileage limit period. Also, where do you get a 50-60K requirement to have the enginer/tranny inspection? In my warranty booklet (Lifetime Maxcare $100 deductible) for my 2009 Dodge Ram Laramie it only states every 5 years within 60 days of each 5 year anniversary from the day you bought it. I don't see a mileage requirement for the inspection anywhere.
