Lift Gate Brake Lights

So I just finished tinting my tails, get everything put all back together and test out functionality. My lift gate brake lights are not operating. The reverse lights on the lift gate work just fine. I checked the bulbs and they look ok, could this be a fuse? any suggestions. I checked the owners manual and it is tough to tell which fuse it would be. Any help would be great.

Re: Lift Gate Brake Lights

Went back and rechecked everything. All connections were snug. I thought maybe it might be that i had not put the interior trim panel with the attached interior lights back on, maybe the interior lights and the tails were on the same circuit and only operate in series. However, that was not the case. All lights are working except the liftgate tails.

I'm wondering if either,
A. The bulbs are fragile and may have broken(can't imagine this being the case since they are on the liftgate which gets opened and closed all the time).
B. My tails were never working and I never noticed because this is the first time I actually checked.
c. Some how these are on their own fuse. I think this is also unlikely since I have seen the fuse diagram and there is nothing about "auxillary lift gate tail lamps" as they are called in the manual.

anymore thoughts. I hate to have to go to the dealer over something so small.

So driving tonight i checked the lights out with my headlamps on. Low and behold light were on. However they still don't function when brakes are pressed. Is this proper?

I just remembered, the brake lights are not on the tail gate. The lights on tail gate are just rear lamps + the white reverse lights.

There is of course the LED brake light above the rear glass.

Yep that is how they are supposed to be. I am a fool, however it seems foolish to not have them operate aa brakes.

Oh well gave me a reason to go to dealer to get other minor issues taken care of.
