Lift gate problems

Hello
Need some help with my trunk hatch. I just noticed when it close the bottom of the hatch rubs against the top of the bumper. This have cause the paint to rub of the hatch and now I got visible surface rust. Found a instruction of how to adjust the hatch but it did not work. I removed the interior plastic so I could loosen the nuts on each side but I could not move the hatch any higher up, only way to do that is to put som spacers there and I guess thats not the way to do it. It is like the power motor close the hatch to tight. Is the anyone else with these problems and how did you solve it? Glad for some input, thanks.

Re: Lift gate problems

It could be the hatch too low or the bumper too high or the molding buckled. Run it by a body shop and let them look at it. Free estimate.
