Dealership says that they checked four other Limited's on their lot and all have the same thing. Of course they determined it to be normal. I even handed them the Star Case printout. Idiots. I guess I'll live with it unless I do it myself later.

Ug, show them the picture of the flush one. It's not normal.

Took mine to dealer and they ordered a new liftgate handle for mine among other things. Dealer I have been going to is really cool with my pickiness. Even if I did not buy the truck from them. They should have all the parts for mine within a week or two.

Re: Liftgate handle

My 2014 Overland is the same way. Taking it in Thursday for an oil change, going to see what they have to say about it.

Re: Liftgate handle

I agree WD40 would be a good choice.

Whatever you use, use it liberally, and dab, don't rub. The tar itself is probably loaded with abrasives.

Re: Liftgate handle

2014 Laredo. 2500 KM on the clock. Just noticed my tailgate handle not flush along top edge.

I have just got the car back from having the front passenger door aligned with the body and a creaky driver's seat lubed. Jeep's factory quality control needs a tune up.

Re: Liftgate handle

My lift gate handle noticeably protrudes out a bit too. It's not even worth having my dealer even look at it though. They'd say it is normal as well.

A better idea is to just not look at the details with these Jeeps in the first place. You will be disappointed.

Re: Liftgate handle

Mine was flush when the car was new (Sept 13) but started distorting outward (like all the pics) this summer. My dealer had to send a pic to Jeep to get authorisation but they agreed to replace it. The new handle is 100% flush as it should be....for now at least.

Re: Liftgate handle

My dealer looked at it today and said yep we have seen it. We will replace it... I decided not to as of yet. I could just imagine other damage they will cause
