Load Leveling Shock Part Number Help...

I just wanted to know if i have the infamous load leveling shocks or not. I plan on eventrually installing SRT rear springs and want to make sure i dont have them (if i do then i'll get non-load leveling shocks).

Tried searching on google and nothing definitive came up. But from the looks of the a few results, im guessing they are load leveling.

Part number off the shock label: 68039560AA

thanks!

Yep those are the load leveling shocks. I have the 2015 GC Altitude with the tow package. This is the same part number as mine.

Re: Load Leveling Shock Part Number Help...

I'm wondering, i don't have the tow package and have been considering getting the factory or an aftermarket trailer hitch and since an aftermarket would limit me to 3500/350 tongue weight if i were to get these load leveling shocks would it increase the max weight i can tow?

Re: Load Leveling Shock Part Number Help...

I just recently had the rear shocks replaced on my '14 w/ tow package. Work order says part # is 68069680-AF. Are those load leveling? W/ 300 lbs of water softener salt in the rear my Jeep was down 1/2".

I have exactly the same GC that you do but mine has the tow package. With the tow package you get the load leveling shocks which have a service bulletin or two with instructions to replace because of the "bump/chuckle" they produce. It drives me crazy so I'm having them replaced per service bulletin. I believe Bilstein may a replacement shock for the GC or maybe a coil over. The OEM load leveler shocks suck really bad.

As for the weight it would not increase the payload only the tongue weight of the trailer the rear suspension will tolerate.

Oh wow. What ever set up i have now is smooth as butter. Maybe i shouldnt get those shocks. I will maybe tow 3500 barely i think with trailer and 2 quads couple times a yr. Nothing more or heavier.

Thx for your input.

If you are not towing heavy loads like cars on trailers or tractors you should be fine with what you have. Just adjust your tongue weight accordingly. With the 20" wheels and tow package I do ride a little rough.
