Locked in !

What the heck? I got into the rear seat yesterday just to see if those seats were as firm as the fronts. You all know the answer to that.Problem was I couldn't get out!!!!I had to reach forward, lower the window and open from the outside.Must be a child saftey control somewhere that I can't locate.O.K. so I'm a geezer, still would like to have rear seat adults open the doors for themselves. Any help welcomed...MADINI

Wow, what an experience. There is uaually a small switch located on the side of the door that kids can't get to once it is closed.
I had that happen to me in a van I was working in once but there was a cage that wouldn't allow me to go up front to unlock the door. I had to take the inside door panel off and operate the latch mechanism there.
Glad you got out.

Re: Locked in !

There is a button on the inside of each rear door, you need to open the rear door and look at the door where the door latch is, there is a white button that needs to be turned to the unlock position.

Re: Locked in !

That happened to me too. Twice. I found out the hard way that those child safety locks can be in an in-between position where the arrow points to "unlocked" but they're still locked. Use a screwdriver to turn them all the way to the unlocked position.

Re: Locked in !

Well I'll be darn! Who woulda knew? Thanks guys,I couldn't find this info in the manual but it's probably in there somewhere. That is clever but why not have the locks controlled by the driver? It's ok with me if it saved a kid from getting hurt.thanks once again.....

Re: Locked in !

Similar experience here on the ~first day. I managed to crawl thru to the font seat to exit.

I kinda figured it was the child safety latch, but when I inspected it "appeared" to be disengaged. I thought I might have have my first serve call.

Turned out the switch was not fully "clicked" into the open position. I inserted a house key into the slot and forced the the switch to the final OPEN, clicked position. Done!

Kinda funny in hindsight to be trapped in the back seat of my own car!
