Re: Locked keys in car tonight

My jeep says the keys left anytime the driver or passanger door is opened (even if the passenger does not have a key). Typically it does not stop until manually acknowledged... It's very annoying.

Re: Locked keys in car tonight

Btw. I too disabled the keyless feature in the jeep. I almost lost my keys recently becoming forgetful since they just stayed in my pocket.. I was at a party and they fell out out my pocket. Went to drive off in the jeep, and took a minute to realise i didnt have the key in my pocket anymore.

Plus ive heard of high batt drain issues etc. so hopefully ill be avoiding this by leaving it disabled. That said, these days, im really looking to disable most of the granny features, like the blind spot and front brake. Its just as simple to turn ur head be sure. Driving back from atlanta to dc today, the front brake warning went off for no reason while going 75 mph on the hwy. it was a scare since i almost slammed on the brakes. I pulled over and found a bug splattered on the front camera. Seriously ? So reminder, we know how to drive... These aids are just making us lazier and overly dependent.

Personally, I do not like the Keyless-Enter-N-Go feature so I've turned it off.

I only want the vehicle to open when I press the Unlock Button, not when I walk up to or by my Jeep.

So far, this has helped me always remember my keys.

The car does NOT open by approaching the car. You have to grab the door handle and push button. I like the keyless, but always take the keys when leaving the car

I had the same problem above, with my 6 months old locked in the car at 100F. Took 15 mins to get her out and rput the child at serious risk.
It is the most stupid invention in the world, it adds no value. It is a sign of poor design/engineering, and to add insult to injury I had to pay for the replacement window although the car was 2 weeks old.
My firs texperience with Jeep, my last, cannot accept risk to my child. Back to Audi/Bmw at the end of the lease.

I was misinformed. The battery does in fact power the key-detection circuit; I checked by removing the battery and doing the test. I cannot find an RFID chip in the key fob.

I apologize for spreading bad information.
