Re: Locked out! Not possible? Yeah, right!

So no one has thought about unlocking the door via the tailgate unlock button and went through all these solutions except simply pressing the button?

Keys were INSIDE the vehicle. When that happens, the tailgate is locked out too.

Interesting. I thought as long as keys were within the perimeter it should unlock. Why will Jeep have us not be able to unlock the vehicle if it scans the fob to be inside than outside. Just wondering.

The vehicle surprisingly knows if the fob is inside or out.

Otherwise, it would be bad if you locked your key in the car, thinking the car was locked - only to have a stranger unlock it and drive away with it.

Yes, that makes perfect sense why Jeep would allow you to lock the vehicle with the fob still inside.

I think there should be a chirp/horn to advise of this instance, is there?

I know per manual if you locked the vehicle using the door lock and it detects the fob inside, it would unlock. If you did it again, then it would then lock knowing you actually meant to do it. At least that's how I read it.
