Re: Long extended crank & no start FIXED!!

Relay fix is just a band aid. It will not correct the problem long term. Replace TIPM until you get a good one, that will solve it. We have Max Care warranty, needed two TIPM before problem was fixed. Only $100 total spent, and problem has not happened again on our 2011. Never, Never buy a WK2 without Max Care warranty, or you will be broke in no time and buy a Lexus

Re: Long extended crank & no start FIXED!!

Add me to the run naked through Mopar's cornfield backwards party.

Anyone that buys a new TIPM, please PM me, I would like to buy your bad TIPM. If you pay for a new part, you still own the bad part. I refuse to spend the $1000+ for the fix, I'm at 60,000 miles, out of warranty (even though powertrain warranty is 100k, and functionally I've got a damn brick).

I'd like to think that if it's a relay issue, it should be a relay fix. Fuel pump relays aren't really rocket science. But what do I know.

Yup, me too.
The dealer put the external fuel pump relay in place and we're at day one.
Good luck everyone.

Re: Long extended crank & no start FIXED!!

I had the same problem with mine. I took it to the dealership and I was told that I had two options to get it fixed one a temporary fix which I'm guessing was just the fuel relay fix he did tell me if I went that route that sooner or later it was going to come back and well the second option was to replace the whole TIPM which is what I opted for so my understanding is that if you have this problem and don't do the whole replacement it will eventually come back the box is the problems replacing anything else will just be temporary
Total with parts and labor I paid 1,035 I hope I get my money back if a recall comes around

Re: Long extended crank & no start FIXED!!

2012 Overland 5.7L Hemi...... I just had my TIPM replaced under warrantee for this same issue. Mopar part # 68244870AA. This is not the same TIPM it came from the factory floor with. New upgraded part from a different supplier than the original failure prone TIPM modules.

This problem will happen to everyone who owns a 2011~ 2013 WK2 eventually.......... These TIPM's are all destined to have failed internal fuel pump relays. Chrysler is well aware of the problem but so far have only announced a safety recall for 2011 WK2's that bypasses the internal fuel pump relay with an external one. A complete BS hack "fix" if you ask me!

Re: Long extended crank & no start FIXED!!

My 2013 Overland has this problem for over a year now, intermittent no-starts that can only be fixed by cycling through off/accessory/on with the start button. Is the Mopar part number you cite good for 2013s as well, or just 2012s?

Thanks!

Should be, but I would run it by a local Chrysler dealer parts dept. to be certain... give them your VIN and they should be able to look up the correct "TIPM Kit" part number.
