Re: Looking for recomendations for Extended Warranties

You purchased the lifetime warranty on a leased vehicle? Odd.

Also to those folks going to local dealers ... don't forget most of you will pay tax if you don't purchase it online.

For the rest of you that think you might have gotten screwed or you made a mistake... those contracts can be cancelled for the first 60 days. So if your dealer sold you on buying it from them and you overpaid + tax. Call them up and tell them you are going to cancel. I had to do this for my Dad as he isn't too swift... he paid full retail for his warranty. Simply by calling the dealer and telling them he was going to cancel they refunded nearly $800.

Nothing odd about it. I'm planning on keeping it (or selling it privately). When else would I buy the warranty? Besides, I've got a 15k mile lease. It will be out of warranty for a year at the rate I'm putting miles on it.

Then there's the fact that I can cancel it for a pro rated refund if I decide not to keep it. There are lots of good reasons for me to have bought it when I did.

I live in MA and asked the dealer about tax and he said no tax on the plan. Don't know why.

IIRC, it's prorated at $50/month less any use.

Re: Looking for recomendations for Extended Warranties

Oh, and one other thing: because I purchased in NC, the lifetime max warranty is transferable to another owner. It's one of the few times living in NC has provided me with an actual benefit!

Re: Looking for recomendations for Extended Warranties

Hmmm trying to decide if I should go with 7yrs/70K or Unlimited.

~$1100 for 1st option, ~$2200 for 2nd option. A big difference. Too bad there isn't something between for 10yrs/100K and priced in between.

Keep in Mind it's really 4yrs/34K your adding to the 3/36.

There is a 7/100K plan for $1625.00 and an 8/120K for $2000

I currently don't drive much. Maybe 9K miles a year if that. But who knows what the feature holds. My commute is only 2 miles at the moment.

And that 8year price. For a little more, might as well get the unlimited. Unlimited is unlimited right?

Unlimited years too?

I am going to buy a policy. I actually bought the 7/70K last night. But once I compared prices, I went and cancelled that contract. But I did convince myself to get the appearance protection package.
So netted $1500 back into principle.

Even though it's only been 1 full day with my JGC, I like it a lot. But I also liked my Tacoma and said I was going to keep it 10 years. I didn't even last 5....

Just cant decide if I should go for the 7 or Unlimited.

I hope their is a "big difference" between 7yrs and how many yrs you have left to live not to mention unlimited mileage.
