2014 summit is on a distinguished road
Loose paddle shifters

The paddle shifters on our 2014 GC Summit are loose. The left one reminds me of a loose tooth getting ready to fall out. The right one is a little tighter. They work fine but they are loose and wobbly. The padle shifters on my new 2013 SX-L Kia Optima are tight. There is no wiggle room at all and they are alot larger in size.

If anyone else is having trouble with theirs let me know what they did to fix them. Ours is going in on Friday to have the passive entry and paddle shifters looked at.

Re: Loose paddle shifters

Mine are the same way, and my left is looser than my right too. I forget if they've always been this way or not.

Don't be surprised if they tell you that it's "normal and operating as designed".

Re: Loose paddle shifters

Take it in to the dealership and get them replaced. They are replacing mine because they appear to be looser than on other GC Summits. We sure like our Jeep but wish we didn't have so many issues to deal with. Well, soon we hope to have a dependable product. Issues are being addressed and repaired but its a hassle to go to the dealership every Friday morning to drop it off. Many of the problems that are listed in the forum we have experienced.

Replaced Nav system / radio, clock, outside temp etc. problems
Passive door lock issues
Paddle shifters loose
Clunk in rear end issues
Oil dipstick too short or incorrect / twice had engine knock noises on start
Head liner rattles
Push button start button rattles
Wiring harness replaced under TSB

We have a little over 3000 miles on our Jeep and the problems started around 300 miles. We are going to keep it for now because we can't find anything else we like better, but if we continue to have more issues we might have to Lemon Law it. Really want to keep it, just have to see how long my patience hold up.
