Re: Lots of Problems

My 2015 GC Altitude I'm mixed about after

1. Steering shimmy and it's sensitively to every little bump

2 Rattles and some unknown shifting sound in drivers door pillar

3.Push button fell into dash

All in 11,000 miles this was my first and last not what I expected.

Re: Lots of Problems

After just 600 miles a rock hit my windshield and cracked it. I had to get replacement and the technician at Safelite showed me that after he removed the broken windshield there was not enough adhesive applied originally. It would have leaked eventually and it was a mixed blessing that I had to get a replacement.

My 2015 GC Limited is both my first Jeep, as well as my first SUV. With respect to build quality, I was impressed, but at the same time, was disappointed that the wheel alignment was "off" initially. However, with respect to wheel alignment on a brand new car, my wife's $80,000 Jaguar was "mis-aligned, too.......

Not trying to be a jerk…. I honestly hope the 2015 is built well. But its too early to know. Of course the 2015 seems well built. Its brand-new. Unfortunately, its impossible to know if all of the working parts will keep working as long as they should. Only time will tell.

Re: Lots of Problems

I believe my 2015 is built well. Aside from it needing an alignment instantly.

I live down a treacherous dirt road. Nothing rattles yet. Now how long will it stay that way?.. I don't know.

I have had several vehicles that have had leaks, rattles, other issues since new and my dirt road to my house really brings those out in the car. So far my GC is doing amongst the best. But time does tell. Overall though I have always found the WK2 to be solid feeling.

Judging by your posts in this discussion, you obviously have an "axe to grind" over problems with your Jeep. ABSOLUTELY NO VEHICLE will ever compare to the 1985 Firebird I ordered in November of 1985, and took delivery of, 8 weeks later, when it comes to "new car issues".

The issues started appearing the day after I brought it home, and continued every other week, for the next 14 months. Was I upset?? OF COURSE! However, instead of getting upset with the dealer, I sent a polite but irate letter to GM, a copy to the dealer, and had a long talk with the service manager of the dealership. As I said, it took 14 months to fix everything, but after that, the car was flawless for the next 8.5 years.

If you're that unhappy with your Jeep, I suggest you POLITELY talk with your dealer, as well as contact Jeep Customer Service, and discuss ALL of your issues. They BOTH live and die by customer satisfaction surveys, and most likely work with you, to get your problems fixed.....

….I'm just going to trade in for a new SUV when my warranty is over.

….didnt start out as an axe to grind but I guess it turned into one. But you can't deny that the jury is still out on how dependable the 2015 will be a few years down the road. Truly hope it is…..I've made my point. I understand that people who just bought a vehicle within the past year don't want to hear someone bashing it. Wasn't trying to offend. In all seriousness, you have a nice car. That said, I'm done.

Re: Lots of Problems

I think quality in general in the automotive world has slipped regardless of brand. Certainly FCA has its share (or more) of this malady. Some examples I personally aware of:

My 2015 JGC was down for 52 days after being driven all of 1100 km in a 7 day period. Defective wiring harness was the final diagnosis.

Friend of mine bought a 2014 Ford Escape. Has had 2 wheel seals replaced + major recall for faulty wiring (potential fire hazard)

My boss got a 2015 Acura MDX. Just got out of the shop after a major recall involving faulty modules leading to sudden shutdown of car with no warning

Another friend got a 2015 Buick Enclave. Last I heard was still in the shop due to major transmission failure.

These are just incidents I have personal knowledge of....god knows how many more there are with multiple brands. So what car...make and/or model should we consider that are going to be immune to these issues? I honestly believe its the parts involved which are the culprits, and a lot of the manufacturers use the same vendors as their source. Lets also bear in mind some of these same parts are now imports from plants out of country...not so sure their quality standards are up to par with USA or Canada produced. We know their wages are a lot less, so it may be a case of "you get what you pay for"
End of political comment

I would say just the opposite, JTE has been working to engineer out all the Dumbler Benz and Cerebus cost cutting.

Improved interiors, improved electronics, improved transmissions etc

Insiders on Allpar have discussed in detail.
