Low Fuel + Remote Start = Abort?

Not really a problem.. just interesting...

Today I went to remote start my car and it turned on for about 15 secs then shut off. When I looked in the car there was a message on the EVIC stating "REMOTE START ABORTED LOW FUEL".

Anyone else had this happen. I was on my way to fuel up I swear! haha.

Yep, it's in the manual.

Re: Low Fuel + Remote Start = Abort?

This happened to me when I first went to get my car. The dealer had NO clue why the autostart was not staying on. Would shut itself down after 20secs. I asked him if the low fuel light had anything to do with it. DIDN'T have a clue until he asked a mech. The first thing the mech asked was, "Are there ANY lights on the dash?" dealer then looked at me and said, "gas light." Mech says, "yep."

I wish more people would read those damn things or at least skim through them. They answer a lot of basic questions that are posted on the forum boards.

Hey Mongoose.. It was merely and obseervation. I thought it was funny beacuse I freaked out like something was wrong, then I saw the EVIC and realized it was a feature.

Thank you for your comment you've contributed a lot to this conversation.

You're welcome lol. I was just stating an observation I've seen with questions in threads lately. Again, if you would have read your owners manuel before hand, you would have know this was normal behavior and nothing to worry about.

Re: Low Fuel + Remote Start = Abort?

Manual? What's that?

If everyone read the things we wouldn't need forums LOL! The manual on my Lex is like 6 inches thick.....I could read the dictionary, bible, and half my encyclopedias in less time! Nah....I'll just go on the forums and ask my Q's, so much quicker! Plus I get the added bonus of getting to annoy peeps with my questions!

Well, you don't need to read it, skimming works just fine as well. I took 30 minutes and skimmed through mine to figure out how some of the options worked. In that time I discovered a lot of other useful information as well. Information that I've shared with other members to answer their questions.

And we greatly appreciate you for doing that...saves the rest of us from reading it!

But seriously, that's why I married someone that works at a dealer! I can just call and ask what does this thingy do, or how do I do this, or is my Jeep supposed to do this? It's so much more convenient!
