Re: Lurching right after starting

Did they give you any idea of any damage this may result in. I saw your utube post and mine does the same exact thing I have owned many trucks but never seen this. It can not be normal Thanks

Still not happy that the car lunges forward but it is nice to finally have some info on the issue.
I don't buy that. With a live rear axle and a long drive shaft that can happen following a stop. (GM CK Trucks with a long bed for example) But the JGC has IRS (Independent Rear Suspension). As a result, the source of the problem that can exist with a live rear axle simply doesn't exist when the vehicle has IRS. Even then the problem doesn't manifest itself on an engine start. It only occurs within a minute following a coast down to a stop.

Re: Lurching right after starting

My 2011 Limited does something similar but it seems to lurch forward after I shift from P to D while my foot is still on the brake. Would this be a different issue all together???

Re: Lurching right after starting

This issue was covered in detail by another thread, where the Star Case info was posted. It makes sense. See this link:

Jerking motion upon engine start? Easy fellas
