Maintenance at 15k???

I just called my dealer to schedule an oil change; almost at 16k miles. The guy said I was due for the 15k mile service which includes alignment, balance, oil change, replace rear differential fluid and some other things for $350. I have the maintenance schedule and I didn't see this on there. Do I really need all this done at 15k miles? I would think they should only recommend an alignment with uneven wear on my tires (which I know there is none). I said I just want the oil change and his response is whatever I feel comfortable with. Any opinions if they are trying to scr*w me? I plan to ask for this maintenance schedule they use when I'm there Saturday.

Re: Maintenance at 15k???

It isn't just a Jeep thing, it's an every dealer thing. They try to push what is in the book cuz that is where the money is made. I am close to my 60k on the TB and they want to charge me over $450 for everything...not worth it when most of the stuff you can do yourself. Personally, I wouldn't do it.

Re: Maintenance at 15k???

Definitely not doing it except for the oil change; plus my Jeep is a lease, so I am only going to do what is necessary. I would rather have had them inspect everything first and then recommend something.

Re: Maintenance at 15k???

Follow the owner's manual recommendations. I don't think Jeep recommends a diff fluid change, at least in the first 120k miles unless you drive off road al the time or use it as a taxi. Varies by model, however.

Re: Maintenance at 15k???

Register your Jeep online. You can keep track of all of your visits for maintenance (assuming you go to a Jeep dealer) It will also show you a list of suggested routine maintenance.

The direct link (it also links from the jeep.com site) is https://www.moparownerconnect.com/oc...nersLogin.aspx
