Re: Major smoke out of exhaust

I saw blue smoke from my v6 the other day when 8 I remote started it. This is not normal at all.I've had cars with over 200000 miles not smoke.

Re: Major smoke out of exhaust

My 2012 Summit is also parked on a slight incline (nose up) and after several minutes the QL attempts to level the vehicle by lowering the front end several inches. Did Chrysler program the Jeep this way to help with this blue smoke issue? Despite the front end lowering, I too have noticed this blue smoke issue when starting the vehicle the next morning. How much incline is needed to reproduce this issue?

I don't think it has anything to do with angles. That's never supposed to hapen!

Re: Major smoke out of exhaust

Still waiting on the collateral swap, supposedly happening this week, although it is now thurs. the incline is NOT great at all to cause this issue. the parking lot of my gym is at an incline enough to cause it, any boat ramp will cause it. The unfortunate thing is that this is just poor design and chrysler doesnt want to admit it until enough people have said something. It is clear that other people have NOTICED this, but how many just dont notice.

Re: Major smoke out of exhaust

I had smoke for the first few thousand miles, and nothing since. I also installed a catch can just in case. I don't think this is as big an issue as people are making it out to be.

I think this is a big issue, because one day you are going to sell you jeep and the new buyer is going to see te smoke coming out of the exhaust and he's going to pay nothing for your jeep. A car blowing smoke since new isn't normal in my eyes.

I installed a catch can on mine and it still smokes. The catch can does catch about 1/2 quart every 5000 miles though. Not too fond of all that oil going into the intake manifold.
