Re: Maxcare Service Contract?

I understand you can buy a maxcare contract after you buy your Jeep, but there are time and/or mileage limitations. I already have a maxcare contract, but I am concerned how useful it is. I've read about the warranty not covering an item I thought it would. My state's lemon law now applies to my car. I'm trying to determine if I should give up on it.

That said, for the first time in the 4 months I've owned it, everything is working perfectly.

Re: Maxcare Service Contract?

You can purchase the MaxCare service contract through the period that your factory vehicle warranty is in place, but it will cost slightly less if you purchase before 12mos/12K miles. You also will not get to use some of the nice benefits, like the loaner/rental vehicle during your factory warranty unless you have already purchased the contract. For the record, I did wait about six months, but it was purely a money-availability thing.

Re: Maxcare Service Contract?

With the deductible you might also look at the Chrysler Lifetime Added Care plus. Has pretty much the same benefits including rental and I figure that what it doesn't cover I can fix for less than the deductible. Just a thought but I have a lot of tools.

BTW if you have a Chrysler service contract it can be verified at MOPAR Vehicle Protection | Extended Warranty | Chrysler Group LLC. with the VIN and owner's name.

In Florida it is transferrable.

Description NEW ADDED CARE PLUS (FOR VEHICLES WITH 5/100 WARRANTY)
Expires on 2095-04-29 or 999999 miles
Deductible Per Repair $100.00
Towing Coverage $100 Roadside Assist 800-521-2779
Rental Car Allowance $35.00 per day for a maximum of $175.00

These folks are good if you are doing an online purchase. or just take their price in and pit it against your dealer and try to get them to beat it.

Re: Maxcare Service Contract?

Are there any Advantages or Disadvantages to Buying a Maxcare Contract On-Line Vs. at a Dealer ? (Or just go for the Best Price ?)

What is the On-Line Process - do you just sign up and put in your Credit Card and you are Done.......or is there more to it ? Do they mail any paperwork to sign and return ?

Also, how do they Verify how many Miles are on the Jeep at Enrollment ? (Under 12,000 etc.)

Thanks,
Tom

Re: Maxcare Service Contract?

If you have a good relationship with your dealer (no b.s.) then he'll probably match online pricing. Just make sure it's the Chrysler contract and not third party.

When I bought mine from an online dealer earlier this year. After we agreed on a price, I called to provide CC numbers and mileage. Later in the day he emailed me a pdf copy of the receipt and after a few days I got the official Mopar ID in the mail.

Re: Maxcare Service Contract?

Yes but it is less expensive before 12/12. Price goes up after that.

Just be sure you get the Chrysler backed plan. Since I bought an 07 Crossfire, I have been getting incessant official looking mail from a third party house.
