Re: Maxcare Service Contract?

can one get a lifetime maxicare with the diesel? On Jeeps site it won't let me but on Zieglers it will.

Re: Maxcare Service Contract?

Are you sure? I just checked Ziegler, and the max term for the diesel was 7 years.

I got the Maximum Care Lifetime unlimited mi and paid $2300 with the $100 ded when i bought the jeep. Like others I have never got the extended warranty. But when I looked under the hood at the 5.7 I knew there was Way to much going on under there now I am going on my 4th water pump and debating weather i should pay a LiL more and lower my ded anyone know what it would be to go to a $50 or a $0 ?

Re: Maxcare Service Contract?

Only concern I had once was when I had stall after start issues and one thing I found out that wasn't covered was the key fobs. Fortunately for us the WIN(?) was the problem and that was covered. Also read that the exhaust system isn't covered.

Aside from this the main benefit has been getting the loaner car.

We purchased ours online through chryslerfactoryplans.com, they had about the best price at the time. No issues with the local dealership seeing the warranty status.

Re: Maxcare Service Contract?

Isn't there a provision in the MaxCare staing that the Jeep must be taken in before it hits 36k for a inspection in order for the warranty to be valid? I have read all the paperwork and see no such thing (aside from keeping receipts for maintenance), but I remember seeing people mention that on this forum. I have owned the vehicle for 1 years now and am at 18k miles...it has never been to the dealer as I do my own oil changes. I have had a MaxCare plan since day 1, but haven't needed any service yet.

The oil change and inspections are paid for in the plan [up to $30 USD] so I'd use them. The intervals are all 10K it appears... where much of the stuff is just inspecting and trying to sell stuff that may not be needed.

Re: Maxcare Service Contract?

I got a free rental car for what turned out to be a fairly trivial issue that has never come back even though there is a recall for it now. The tech did tighten the grounds as he's been around Jeeps and their crappy grounding for some time now.

It costs me nothing to have the 10K interval inspections done other than needing to work from the waiting room or schmooze with the sales types until they offer me free snacks.

And the recent one did catch a superfilthy air filter that I had meant to have changed after a really really fun road trip into the boonies.

But mainly the peace of mind if any of those ultra expensive doohickies decides to blow up is why I bought it.

Dealer allows oil changes at my choosing, not per the service plan and uses full synth for just under $20 bucks more.

Re: Maxcare Service Contract?

My purchase only included 4 free oil changes within the first 2 years...I didn't use them as I enjoy doing the work myself.

I got the lifetime warrantee for same reasons as others said, so much high tech stuff in this model. Plus I drive a ton of miles so will get my use out of it over 100k. Bought mine up front at dealer so it's baked into my payment. Forgot exact price but my affiliate deal applied to warranty too so was a set price around 2200 or 2300.
