Re: MaxCare Warranty??

From the in service date I don't get. If I just purchased a 3y/36thousand mile plan on my 2011 overland. The contract I just bought would be useless right? When I was speaking with the folks from Ziegler, he was telling me it was from the miles I had input on my application.

You misunderstood. The price is figured from the miles you put on the application but the start date is figured from the date of delivery.

Re: MaxCare Warranty??

Date of delivery? So when the vehicle was brand new in 2011?

Yes, if you are talking about the Mopar Max Care Wrap Extended Service Contract and you are talking about a vehicle you bought new to begin with. There is a huge penalty for not buying the contract for your vehicle when it is new.

Re: MaxCare Warranty??

Just had a new dash installed on my '11 Overland, brake booster recall, vanity mirror recall, and several updates performed. Received a loaner for three days, glad I had the lifetime maxcare plan, but am still under factory warranty for another couple months.

I'm really debating buying the plan for my Summit, because it will pay off for me just in loaners. I swap cars about every year, so these plans are a tough decision for me, but are a great deal for anyone keeping the car long term.

You don't have to buy the plan when you purchase the car (within 12 months or 12,000 miles), and there is not a huge penalty waiting, as it's only a couple hundred dollars and whatever price increases there may be. I wouldn't sweat it.

Only a couple of hundred of dollars and what ever price increase? You must be made of money. That couple hundred dollars and price increase effects my budget in a big way and why I couldn't afford to hold off on buying my Mopar Max Care Lifetime Service Contract. But then again I can only afford to buy a new vehicle every 10 to 15 years. The car I sold to buy my new Jeep was 15 years old and still going strong. A college kid bought it to get back and forth to college. He got a good deal as it only had 50,000 actual miles on it and still had lots of life in it. It was not only price and rental car I was concerned about in purchasing the Service Contract early but the trip interruption insurance and other things as well. You have an odd way of looking at money and benefits.

Re: MaxCare Warranty??

I bought my added care plus (made more sense for me) lifetime at about 11 mo and 6k miles. AFAIR the difference between over and under a year was less than the difference between added care and max care but made sense to me to do it then. I would not consider anything other than a Chrysler contract.

I do tend to keep cars I like for decades and the Jeep is the best tow car I've ever had. Would be nice if the brake controller came with the tow package but cant have everything.

Re: MaxCare Warranty??

Has anyone experienced any problems at Jeep dealership when they find out that you purchased the warranty through Zeigler instead of purchasing with the dealer where you bought the Jeep and where you plan to have any warranty work performed? The online price for Zeigler is $980 less than the best price the dealership can offer me. I wouldn't mind paying an extra $200 to support a local business, but I'm not about to pay $980 more. I just wonder if the dealer gives you a hard time when they know they lost a sale to an online bulk sale type of deal? It shouldn't matter to the dealer, but I'm basically about to start a 7-10 year relationship with this business so I want to know what to expect.

Re: MaxCare Warranty??

They shouldn't ever know. It's an agreement through Mopar, not the dealer.

No...it's a Mopar/Chrysler extended service contract and the service manager isn't going to care. They get paid regardless of where it was purchased. Service departments are generally independent of the sales side of the dealership and their metric is service revenue. Taking care of in-warranty as well as service contract business generates that revenue just the same as "cash" customers.

I'm not sure the'll even know where you purchased it? I've had my Jeep in for service and got a rental on the maxi-care. No problems what so ever!
