Miles to next oil change

Hey guys, is there a way to check to how many miles to the next oil change?

I was able to check on my 05 but cant seem to figure out how to on my 12 wk2

I'm going on trip on friday that will be just over 1000 miles round trip.

I haven't changed the oil since i bought the jeep, and i've put about 6k miles since i bought it used and I dont know when the last oil change was done.

i'm thinking about going to change it tomorrow after work anyway, but i'd like to know if there's a way to check anyway.

Unless I'm mistaken, it's in the same set as the tire pressure sensors. You go to that menu, then arrow sideways to get the coolant temp and other data.

Unfortunately, I can't go look right at the moment...

What you get is a percentage of oil life left, based on a number of factors involving flying pigs, etc. plus how many miles since your last change.
With a bit of math you can estimate it.

Some of us change early, wasting billions and billions of dollars with stuff like full synth, full synth from natural gas, etc. etc. and when in doubt, change.

Re: Miles to next oil change

My '13 doesn't have any reading for the oil quality that I can find. I wish it did as it has never come on. Last time I got nervous and had it changed at about 7k.

Re: Miles to next oil change

I had it changed at the dealer with synthetic and the guy said with synthetic it's every 7k miles but they also didn't put a sticker on my windshield

I'm pretty sure it's in the owner's manual...

8000 miles between oil changes.

My 'change oil soon' message usually comes on about 7500 miles.

I do my own oil changes and reset the indicator myself.

Re: Miles to next oil change

I am convinced that the engineers who designed the WK2 (and others) Driver Information Centers have solved this issue by putting 2 trip-odometers in cars these days. Because I am a bit particular about tracking miles per tank: I reset my "A" trip at every fill up (every 350-390 miles or so, depending on what I am hauling and/or if I am lead-footing). Then, at every oil change: I reset my "B" trip to track miles between oil change (usually about every 7000-8000 miles roughly; I use M1 and have since the very first oil change). I am not much a fan of those little sticky things in the corner of my windshield mocking me as I drive....

my $0.02.

Haha yeah I agree, I'm not a fan of those stickers either. Especially if they start peeling.

But good point about the trip-odometers. I did reset the "A" trip because the day after i did the oil changed we went on the trip and i wanted to see how many miles the trip would be... I'll just have to check that from now on, since i haven't reset it again.
