Minor interior trim / fit issues - normal?
I have noticed two minor issues with the trim on my new 2012 Overland, with the saddle interior.
For one, the plastic / rubber piece that surrounds the steering wheel is shifted a little bit to the left, so that there is a slight gap between it and the wood piece that has the starter button in it (if you look closely, you can see the unfinished tab on the wood trim that looks like it should fit into the rubber piece). I'm only talking about 1-2 millimeters or so, but it is visible if you look.
Second - the left air vent on the driver's side dashboard, and surrounding wood/leather trim, does not perfectly match up with the corresponding pieces on the door - the entire trim/vent area on the dashboard sticks out slightly (but noticeably) more towards the driver than the corresponding pieces on the door. Again, it's not horrible, but if you look at it, it does not line up.
This is all minor, and the interior is beautiful otherwise, but I'm wondering if this kind of thing is normal, or if I should say something to the dealer. I'm coming from an old BMW, which had flawless fit of every piece in the interior, so maybe I'm just being too picky...
