Re: Moved to Canada - Warranty Now Void

A Grand Cherokee is $10K more here, so this is how Chrysler keeps people from importing vehicles from the States, but you have nothing to worry about, the WK2 has no issues. Just think of the savings you received when purchased instead of here, that should pay for problems.

Where did you move in Canada?

You surely can't think my post was anything other than joking around. We don't want Canada as a state. We just want some of your beer and hockey players.

Re: Moved to Canada - Warranty Now Void

Same Chrysler policy for Canadian moving to the US. I complained to Chrysler Canada - reponse was "We'll note your comment."

Seems like a money grab to me. Ford and GM don't do this.

3rd party warranty is an option.

Just off the top of my head, and taken with a grain of salt, it seems this policy would violate the NAFTA. You may want to contact a U.S. trade attaché at the Emabassy and pose the question.

How far from the border are you? Could you bring it to a dealer in the
US?

Re: Moved to Canada - Warranty Now Void

A quick update - Chrysler Canada is in the process of honoring the remaining factory warranty since I did not simply drive to the US to purchase the vehicle (I legitimately moved). They will also pro-rate the additional warranty I purchased as Mistadobalina stated

Thanks for everyone's help and comments. For anyone that is interested, if you contact Chrysler Canada BEFORE you move to Canada, they will assist in transferring the remaining warranty. Unfortunately, if you have any extended warranty plan, they will void it and refund the pro-rated difference.
