Re: Multiple errors

I have no idea why some dealerships are acting so dumb. When I had the issue with my car I called the service department, told the guy what was going on ...error messages etc and that based on what I've read online it might be the orc module. He just said that he thinks the same and he'll order the part that second cos he knew there's a waiting line.
Bingo!

Re: Multiple errors

Mine goes in tommorrow for this problem. I asked the parts person to order me an ORC module a week ago anticipating this problem. He said he would but would not guarantee it would be there in time. By the way, my alarms are up solid, meaning "service air bag", "drivers seatbelt unfastened", "front passenger seatbelt unfastened", and vehicle phone requires service on the 8.4 RA3.

Re: Multiple errors

They serviced my jeep today for this problem. They said they reflashed the airbag module (I guess this is the ORC module) and everything went away. They also tried to tell me that a bag I had filled with towels siting on the floor behind the console was the problem. That is total bullsh_t, no. 1 because it wasn't there when the problem happened, no. 2 what does that have anything to do with the air bag service light, passenger and driver seatbelt light, and vehicle phone requires service. All they did was reset the module so the alarms would clear, and I fully expect them to come back in on my next road trip. Totally pathetic. What are my options at this point?

Re: Multiple errors

My errors were always starting to go off as soon the car was started so maybe your issue was/is something else. I was also getting the service shifter error which you apparently don't have. Where exactly did you have the towels placed?

Re: Multiple errors

towells were in a bag, right behind the console to fill the gap between the backseats and the console. The dogs lays down with his head and front paws on the console armrest. This is a mook point because this bag was not even there when the errors came in. i had cleaned the car up and removed all the dog stuff for a 230 mile roadtrip with a coworker. The towells and bag were not there there and the backseats were all in their upright position. Usually the larger half of the backseat is layed down flat for the dog.

Re: Multiple errors

I had my 2014 GC Limited bought 4/13 in for three times, total of 5 days and the dealership couldn't duplicate the problem. As a result, they said they couldn't order an ORC. We'll see if it comes back. The same errors would come on after about an hour's drive. They drove it for 150 miles and said they didn't come on.

Re: Multiple errors

Better days ahead, just got back from the dealership, the person on the phone had no idea what they were talking about when they said the ORC module was not replaced. On work order it states, while troubleshooting seatbelt issue found ORC module dead on bus, power and ground good. They did indeed replace the ORC module. So, it worked out I had them order the part before the service appt. or they would have had to wait for the part.

Re: Multiple errors

Update..... So my fourth trip to the dealership was an absolute joke. The car sat there for almost 5 days and they didn't even look at the car. So I picked it up and spoke to a different dealership in the area who said that they had replaced at least a dozen ORC modules for the issues I was having. I described my horrendous experience with the first dealership and he said that he was going to order the module for me. The module is back ordered so he said it could take two weeks or so for it to arrive.
