Re: Multiple errors

There you go! Don't spend time with retards. The whole process once they have the part should take 30 min or less. What area are you in? I tried a dealership in Long Island first and they were asking me to leave the car there for 3 days until they had a spot to take a look lol . Let aside the ordering and installing.
Back home in Maine my dealership already placed the order when I called. Once the part got there ...I think 1 or 2 days I just drove in dropped the car smoked 2 cigs and done.
No more issues so far.

Re: Multiple errors

Hopefully the final update... I received a call from the dealership who promised that they could fix the car...they received the ORC module. I spent a short time there for the replacement. Tney said it was a known issue.
I have been driving the car all day and no more error issues....

I think they fixed it! I now will write a long letter to Jeep about the pathetic service I received at the first dealership.

So....it was the ORC module after all.......

Re: Multiple errors

Glad I used the search function. I just drove home today and all of a sudden got the airbag service message and light, then the driver seat belt error and finally the ACC/FCW error. I asked my wife if she saw any of these since she drove to work and there was nothing. Calling the dealer since I have a few other things I need them to look into and hopefully they don't give me the same crap others have been getting.

Re: Multiple errors

It is the ORC module causing those errors.....Mine has been "error free" since the module was replaced....if your dealership gives you grief...just move on to another.... Please keep us posted....

Re: Multiple errors

Yeah ducks , but problems do happen. They have me scheduled Thursday morning to fix this along with the brake booster since they got those parts in and that day was open to perform the recall work with the amount of vehicles they've been repairing. I also told them about the tsb for the steering wheel vibration between 65-75 mph, so I told them plan on keeping it all day to fix these issues. Unfortunately the radio has resumed working, so I can point out to them the issues I've been having with the Bluetooth, USB, and SD card audio playback.

It sucks since I really enjoy this vehicle, but these problems aren't giving me confidence beyond the warranty coverage and I'm now looking into getting the lifetime Mopar coverage.

Re: Multiple errors

So the dealer decided to keep my vehicle yesterday since they didn't have all the parts necessary to repair it. They got the brake booster recall done and the adviser explained to me that they "discovered" I need a new orc module even though I told them that when I scheduled the appointment and told him when explaining the problems to him.

I'm still arguing with them about the steering wheel vibratikn. He keeps blaming my rims and says they aren't balanced correctly even after me telling him the problem was there with the factory rims as well. I gave him the tsb number and all and when they test drove it he said they hardly noticed any vibrations.

I'll see what happens today and hopefully they can resolve all the issues so I can get out of this Avenger rental they gave me

Re: Multiple errors

Update:

I'm off to another dealer once this gets fixed. They claimed everything was fixed and had me return the rental to pickup my vehicle last Friday. I got the vehicle back with the ORC module not replaced, but the adviser promised he would have the part in Monday/Tuesday and I can have it fixed same day. I called them Tuesday and it just shipped and again on Wednesday with nothing yet. They called me today that they have the ORC module in, but can't bring my vehicle in for repairs until Monday. I'm done with the constant chimes indicating the airbag needs service and seat belt aren't connected.

I also talked to them about the tools they left under the hood and the broken washer nozzle that wasn't broken before leaving the vehicle with them on Monday. The adviser claimed he was ordering the part and got all my VIN information, but when I asked about this, they parts department had nothing on order and this piece isn't something they have on hand and needs to be ordered. I've left the adviser a message with all my contact numbers to reach me about this and I've elevated this issue to their manager.

This dealer needs to completely blow my mind and have a huge recovery with customer service or this is my last time dealing with them. I've had all my service done with them for all my Chrysler vehicles, but this case has soured any positive experience I've had with them in the past.

Re: Multiple errors

Amazing how the service at the dealership will ruin the brand....I have had nothing but Mercedes since 1986..the Grand Cherokee was my first car that wasn't a Mercedes since then...I love the car....but it was a nightmare getting the issue resolved....

I never had this problem with Mercedes...not that I didn't have issues with cars that needed to be addressed...the dealers did address them and ultimately fixed the problems without the grief that I went through with the Jeep. I have to admit that after writing a long letter to Jeep that they did try to make amends...but I think that as much as I love the Grand Cherokee....it will be back to Mercedes after my lease is over....

too bad...because it really is a good car...and an amazing value .....but the abominable service when there was a problem was just not worth it....

Jeep goes through the trouble to provide a solid vehicle and the service at the local dealership level destroys it....

too bad.....

Re: Multiple errors

Absolute nightmare. Jeep once again has to be left at the dealer to fix this. I left the vehicle with them at 8 this morning and told them I need it back by 4 to get my kids. Adviser mentioned it would take all day to install and run tests, but he would do his best.

I get there right before 4 and he's surprised to see me and even asks if someone called me which I answer him no since that doesn't seem to be something this dealer is capable of doing and I said I'd return by 4. He then checks on my car and comes back to bring me out to it. I see the entire center console disassembled with tools all over the place. He tells me the module goes under where the shifter is and they can't figure out what's going wrong.

Next thing we do is look at the techs computer which says the module is installed, but now it's giving a ton of other errors that weren't there before. The adviser then begins to ask has my vehicle been in an accident or fender bender. I'm ready to snap at this guy for even trying to excuse his way out of fixing this properly and he then decided they will send me home in another rental while they try to figure out what's wrong.

This dealer has completely tarnished their reputation with me and Chrysler Corp will be hearing from me tomorrow.

Re: Multiple errors

Finally got the vehicle back with no more chimes and warnings. I still have yet to hear back from the manager and the sales adviser has now become more responsive and humble after our confrontation yesterday. I noticed though one of the panels on the driver side next to the center console isn't flush. I pushed on it to see if it would snap in place and there's still a gap. Am I being unreasonable if I take this back to them to fix? I know it wasn't like this when I took it to them and I'm getting very tired of continuing to deal with this place.

Re: Multiple errors

Bring it back.....they should give you the vehicle as you gave it to them....and it should work the way it is supposed to work...

Also...send a complaint to Jeep....
