Multiple windshield/sunroof leaks part 1

Purchased a new '15 SRT on Nov. 6. The first time it rained, there was a small drip near the rear view mirror / sunglass holder. Dealer stated that the drain for the sunroof must be clogged and was not a big deal. The leak was "corrected" on 12/16, or so we thought. Headed south for the holidays and drove through a light rain for a couple of hours and no drip. All is well, or so we thought. The next morning when I sat in the vehicle, I noticed the passenger door was wet (was about to be an ass and accuse the wife of not closing it). After I walked over and opened the passenger door, I noticed there was a considerable stream of water running down from the top right corner of the windshield and water was puddled in the passenger floorboard. The video of the floorboard was after the first beach towel was used to soak up the majority of the water. By that time, I had decided that it was time to just leave the truck and keys with the dealer and tell them to keep it. And to top off the experience, the attached video (rvm leak) just occured 5 minutes ago.

It's time for another vehicle, a $74K vehicle should not come with these issues, which are unacceptable in my mind. Has anyone else experienced these issues?

Wow sorry to see that dude. A new feature we never new about, Jeep factory waterfall . Looks like the sunroof drain tube is disconnected and allowing water to pour into the interior. Either that or there is a really bad leak from the top of the windshield but you would notice a whistle while driving. . Take it to the dealer and demand to speak to the general manager. But before you do that call Jeep customer care and complain to them and explain you are bringing it to the dealership and but would like the DSM ( district sales manager) contacted about this concern and to contact you directly. ( can you tell I have worked for a dealership too long :P) . Doing this should get you some extra's if not a new vehicle . Also explain that all this extra water may have created future potential issues with water damage, mold/mildew, and staining . Hopefully my advise helps you .

I appreciate your reply. Your concerns re: mold, electrical and even potential negative effects re: airbag defects/deployments are exactly my concerns.

Well your concerns are very valid and a representative of Jeep should understand that. But the million dollar question or in your case $76,000 question is , what is the dealer/Jeep going to do for you? I just know from my past experience that dealing with the Service Manager gets you nowhere and also dealing with sales management can lead to passing the buck to different departments ( usually the service). In most cases the service department butt heads with the sales department and when this occurs it makes you feel frustrated and lose all trust and respect in the dealership.

So take my advice on calling Jeep customer care first and getting in contact with the DSM or at least leave a message for him, it takes a full step off of the dealer and speeds things up dramatically. I hope all goes well my friend and they get you what you deserve.

Keep us posted on what happens. I really would like to hear how this pans out.

Call the SRT service line not the general jeep service line. SRT line will get you better and more prompt service.

Thank you both for the advice. I have already contacted Jeep customer care a couple of days ago and will be reaching out to the SRT service line shortly.

Once a car has taken on any significant amount of water to the interior it should be considered a "salvage ".....If i where you i would take nothing less than a 100% refund of all your expenses or a brand new vehicle......If Jeep resists this at all tell them all future communication will be from your lawyer.....

Re: Multiple windshield/sunroof leaks part 1

The sales manager would not provide me with the contact info for the District Sales Manager (said their service manager has to serve as the "go between" to the DSM. I have been provided a rental car while they contact Chrysler. I was told once Chrysler is contacted, they utilize a group called ISG that will determine the damage and if it was repaired, etc. And now with the snow and freezing temperatures we have had the past couple of weeks, I have videos of the ice in the passenger floorboard.

Dealer won't provide me with the contact info for the DSM. Said the service manager would be the go between. I am being provided a rental vehicle while they are correcting the issues. At that point, I was told that I could decline it and Chrysler would utilize a 3rd party (ISG) to determine if I a have a reasonable claim.
