hey guys, so im new to this website and a new jeep owner. purchased one yesterday.. i have an iphone 6 and it works great listening to music via bluetooth (itunes, pandora, spotify). but as soon as i plug in the USB cord to charge my phone it doesnt work through bluetooth. it shows connect device... but it was just working a second ago... when i look at my phone and hit play music time is moving so its playing... just not through my car speakers or my phone...

ive tried to unpair my phone. turn my phone off and on.

for the most part i feel im pretty tech savvy being i work at AT&T. but this has stumped me.

PLEASE HELP A NEW JEEP OWNER

i noticed theres a fairly new post about this under audio/visual category but didnt fix my problem. so hoping i can get some help here...

When you plug in your phone through the USB port inside the center console, it thinks that it is an auxiliary device instead of bluetooth. It WILL play music from a playlist and gives you full control, but I havent tried playing streaming music through it. Also, when set up this way, you can use the voice controls to select songs and artists, but ive had a hard time getting the voice recognition to work.

Noticed that too. I believe it was built that way. I get what you are saying but seems to have been designed that way. YOur best bet would be to not use the front remote usb jack and use the rear ones to do what you want to do.

The moment you plug it in just switch input to usb and continue ... You should be able to continue exactly where you were. I think this started to happening after ios 9 upgrade. I'm thinking that ios is turning off bluetooth audio the moment you plug into usb that can access phone.
