AT LAST !!
MY JEEP HAS FINALLY DID IT !!!
IT DEVELOPED THE MOST FAMOUS SO CALLED "HEMI TICK"
I can say now my jeep lost it's virginity !!
the symptoms are the same "sound at cold start, gone after 30 sec"
mostly the sound comes from the right side
ANYWAY !!
Is there a stronger bolts in the market better than the original ones ??
I am assuming the same problem will occur after a while if I will use the same original bolts again !!
any ideas ??
What year? Which HEMI?
Please take time to fill in your vehicle info in your profile. It will appear with every post. Look under my name you will see 2011 3.6L WK2. That's all that's needed for most questions unless package related. No offense, it just makes it easier for the guys trying to help you.
I have this tick too in my 2013 5.7L Hemi (3 months new to me) 24k miles. Can you explain the origin a little more? What about the bolts causes the tick? My wife elbows me in the ribs every time we hear it....
The exhaust manifold bolts tend to break by heat, vibraton, and time cousing a leak which couses the sound, after the engine warms up seconds later the metal will expand and the leak will stop.
I have the same issue, on a 15' Overland. The tick doesn't go away after 30 seconds though. I'm hesitant to take it the dealer the service dept in NYC isn't the best. I was told its the lifters making noise. Has anyone changed the exhaust manifold bolts? Did it eliminate the noise?
The tick remains on my 13 as well. Every time i go from a stop to a slow acceleration I get the tick. I also don't trust NYC service. I've left my jeep overnight multiple times with no solutions to a few problems. Just lost time. I guess I'll spring for these bolts next month and give this a try.
