Re: Need advice. Quadra Lift system has failed for the 3rd time in 3 Months.

The service manager called today to inform me that after talking with an engineer from Chrysler they were able to find that the control module went bad and it was sending false signals to the compressor causing it to run constantly and burn up.

I also asked for her to explain to me what her definition of "overuse" is for the QL system. She then proceeded to tell me that people who use their suspension like a handicap accessible vehicle would be overusing the system. I asked if she meant putting the suspension in park mode when exiting the Jeep and she said yes? Am I to believe using the park mode feature would be overusing the suspension? Sounds crazy to me.

She's full of crap. That's exactly what the park setting was designed to do. I'd be forced to talk to the owner of that dealership and let him or her know they have a jerk in the service department. I can't believe she handed you that line of bull!

Every time I jump on the highway my vehicle lowers, every time I pull off it goes back to normal height by design. As for manually raising/lowering I don't raise it much but I do use the park entry setting when carting around people who may have trouble getting in and out of higher vehicles. I read nothing in the manual that say's to limit the use of those modes due to overuse causing issues. Now if someone while driving was raising/lowering it all the time every day maybe then that would be overuse but I agree with Jacko15 assessment on this.

Re: Need advice. Quadra Lift system has failed for the 3rd time in 3 Months.

I'm in the same boat. I have a 2011 GC Overland with 26K miles on it. I drive all of 7 miles round trip to work everyday and pretty much baby the Jeep. About a month ago the air suspension failed so I Took it to the dealer and was advised the control module just needed a code cleared. Didn't get out of the lot after picking up the vehicle and the Service air suspension message popped up. Took it back and the told me I needed a new control module. This was replaced, and then they told me the compressor is bad. They replaced the compressor and everything worked great - for Three days. That's right, three days, and then the suspension system failed again and it sounds like the compressor is blown. I have to take my car back in again on Monday. I'm just happy it is still under warranty for two more months. Seriously thinking I need to purchase the extended warranty in case this becomes an ongoing problem.

So your problems continued after the control module was replaced? After the problems I've had with mine so far, I fully expect them to replace my control module and then a short time after we get the car back the problem will be back.

I love the Jeep but can't deal with the inconvenience anymore. I actually ended up picking up a 2014 GMC Acadia Denali today as it's replacement. As soon as I get the Jeep back from service it's gone.

Why didn't you just trade it in on a 2014 jeep? Thats kind of a big step down going into a Acadia.

If I planned on staying on the road all the time I would be in an Acadia Denali. I don't see it as a step down, but it is a matter of opinion.

Anything GM or Ford is a step down.

They both have their pros and cons I guess. Quite honestly the Jeep is too small at this point. The 3rd row seating of the Acadia was a must. I'll def miss the V8 in the Jeep too but what good is that V8 doing me in a car that is always in the shop getting repaired. I like the 2014 Jeeps but after dealing with the 2 Chrysler dealers in my area trying to resolve the issues with my 2011, there's just no way I could bring myself to buy a car from them or have to worry about dealing with them with any potential issues down the road.

I'm not abandoning Jeep all together. I still have an 06 SRT8 Jeep.

Re: Need advice. Quadra Lift system has failed for the 3rd time in 3 Months.

I had the same compressor not shutting down issue on my 2011. Even after control unit replacement, it was not resolved. I had no leaks in the system, just the compressor would not respond to the 'stop' message from the control unit. After 4-5 failures in the 2nd year of ownership, I traded it for a steel spring limited.

Re: Need advice. Quadra Lift system has failed for the 3rd time in 3 Months.

This whole thread is making me sick. After 43k miles of bliss on my '11 Summit, I got the "service air suspension immediately" indicator traveling back from upstate New York this afternoon. The suspension does not cycle and it is sitting out in the garage with a '70's rake to it. I have zero time and even less patience to deal with this crap.

So after I posted that rant, I just went out and swapped around a few 40A fuses. Seems the fuse was bad. I cycled the suspension up and down once or twice and all seems to be functioning….Question is…why did the fuse blow? Rules out the control module and the compressor…..Hmmmm….

As far as trading it for a '14..you gotta be outa your mind…After raving about mine, I convinced buddy to by a '14 Hemi Overland…Chrysler is in the process of cutting a check to him to take it back.
