Need help with the Blu Ray system

I just started to use the DVD/Blu Ray system last night, and after I put in a DVD, I got it to play, but I also noticed the screen showed a "disc 2" button tab, but I didn't have time to play around with the system to get more familiar. Is the system capable of playing two diff. discs? The owners dvd is not much help nor the owners manual. Thanks in advance! And if anyone can fill me on how to get the wireless headphones set up I would greatly appreciate it!

Re: Need help with the Blu Ray system

Are you sure it said "disc 2" and not "AV/2" or "HDMI 2"? I don't have access to my Durango at the moment (wife is driving it), but I don't recall seeing "disc 2" as an input source.

You can send any input source (Disc, AV1, AV2, HDMI1, HDMI2 etc.) to either screen. The headphones must have a line of sight to the screen that is being watched. In other words,

1) Make sure you have the headphones oriented correctly (right ear cup on right ear),
2) Flip the switch of the headphones to the screen you want to "hear". (1 is driver side, 2 is passenger side).
3) and sit in a seat in front of the screen (so the headphone has a line of sight to the appropriate screen.)

Of course, make sure the headphones have batteries and they are turned on.

Ha...I know exactly what you mean. One reason why I got the Blu-ray system is so that I don't have to deal with loading decrypting, compressing and loading videos on the kids tablets.

Re: Need help with the Blu Ray system

Hey guys, not to hijack the thread, but how do you like the Blu-ray entertainment system? I am going back and forth in my mind on whether or other to get it. I haven't really seen any detailed reviews from anyone who has it.

Is there anything that you really like or don't like about it? Does anything else in particular stand out? How is the quality of the screens and unit?

Thanks!

No worries, I haven't had time to play a Blu-ray movie yet, we just used dvd's, but the quality looked great in my opinion, screens seem to be nice quality, I just have to learn the in's and out's of using the system. But otherwise I like it so far, no complaints...YET...lol

You can read my initial thoughts (Blu-ray is near the bottom) here:

Thoughts on my Granite D Citadel with Blu-Ray

And a few more here:

Thoughts on my Granite D Citadel with Blu-Ray

We generally only use the Blu-ray player on long trips (have another one coming up in July). It has played every Disc I've thrown at it (Blu-ray, DVD, burned DVDs, etc.) Picture quality is great from what I've sampled, though I don't get to watch it of course!

Kids report zero comfort issues with the headphones even over extended periods.

The great thing about this system IMO is the input flexibility. You can play any input to any screen. (Including the front center stack screen when in park. If you get a lockpick harness, you defeat the safety and play movies on the center stack at any time.)

The only drawbacks I would mention:

1) The Blu-ray player takes up considerable space in the center console, and you also lose the armrest "tray" in the center console. This is not an issue for me because I don't like to keep "things" in my car rolling around. If you like to store lots of stuff, however, it could be a problem.

2) Because the headphones need line-of sight to the screens, using them from the 3rd row might be problematic. So if you have more than 2 movie watchers and purchase extra headphones, I'm not sure how well it would work.

In short I give the system very high marks and have no qualms recommending it from a quality / usability standpoint. Whether it is "worth the cost" is entirely up to you, of course!
