I have a 2014 GC Laredo 4x4 with a V6 motor, car has been showing a check engine light for a misfire on cylinder #5. This started at 5000 miles . The dealer has reset the computer, put a new spark plug, and new coil pack. The check engine keep coming back within two weeks of working on it.

I was wondering if anybody else has had this problem or might have some idea what is going on with this issue. The code is always misfire on cylinder #5. Truck is going in this week to the dealer for another look.

Thanks in advance for looking

Just got home from the dealer, they are ordering me a new right side cylinder head. They report that they usually have issues with the left cylinder head. First time for them on the right side, go figure my luck.

They are going to have the new cylinder head in next week and provide me with a loaner truck. I will provide an update when it's done.

Thanks to those who replied:thumbsup:

Hi, I am dealing the same issue with my 14 GC, but on #4. The dealer couldn't figure out what went wrong, and they called Chrysler for suggestion. Chrysler told them to swap the coil, injector and plug to #3 cylinder to see if the issue came back. No surprise, the engine light was on only after two days. Now I am going to take my car in next week, and Chrysler wants to take a look at it. I am only 40 miles away from their HQ.

The frustrating thing is the dealer can only give me a compact sedan for me to drive in Michigan. Don't like it too much, will see what Chrysler can do for me...

I hope they are able to solve it for you! It is nice to be that close to Chrysler HQ.
It sucks that the dealer only gave you a compact, especially with the winter we are having.

Mine goes in Monday for the cylinder head replacement. I will update everyone once it is done. I'm curious as to what vehicle they are going to give me while is down.

Just an update on my engine problem. Dropped the truck off at the dealer on Tuesday, to have the passenger side head replaced. Picked up my truck this afternoon and all seems fixed. Put about fifty mikes on it and no check engine light. I will keep my fingers crossed this solves it.

The dealer did a leak down and compression test to make sure things are in spec. All was right! I have to say to have this repair done in twenty four hours was amazing! They also gave me a decent loaner, another jeep GC

Lucky you! A GC loaner. I only got a 200...

I got my truck back today. Last time they swapped the injector, coil and plug to #3 cylinder, and I got a P0303 engine misfire. So the tech replaced the coil and injector this time. Hopefully this resolves the engine misfire issue. However, they did not resolve my clunk noise when the truck shifting from 2nd to 1st gear and stops.

Wow...yet another possible 2014 GC V6 issue for me to worry about. First it was the shitty shifting transmissions many have complained about (including myself), now cylinder head replacements.

Subscribing to this thread for sure. Yet another reason why I should trade-in my 2014 GC before the standard warranty wears out. Glad I didn't pay the $2000 for an extended warranty!

So finally following the 4th software update that was attempted on my GC, they determined there was a larger problem, a "valve body" was determined to be defective. Come to find out, the valve body on this truck is the entire shift valve system and the Transmission Control Module, all in one. They had to completely reinitialize the module once installed, some extensive 15-20 miles driving exercise as well as software programming. Now the truck shifts perfectly up and down the gears. The only caveat is that there is still a little more abrupt shift into 1st when coming to a stop than I would like, but they attribute this to the Variable Valve timing keeping the revs slightly higher than ideal for this downshift.....sounds a little fishy to me.
