New dealer software update, lower rev limit?

I had my '12 5.7 in for service yesterday to diagnose a noise. They discovered a bad water pump and replaced it. They also reflashed with PCM and DTCM software updates. I swear they pulled out rpm with the updates. It shifts at 5500 rpm now under full throttle and in manual mode it only revs to 5500 before hitting the rev limit. I honestly don't remember what it used to rev to prior, but it feels like it's lower now.
Anyone have any info? Or at least tell me what yours revs to if you've NOT had any recent updates. This was the first software update mine's had since I bought new.

Also have the '12 5.7. 5500 rpm seems to be it. Sometimes a little less or a tick more for whatever reason. Doesn't really matter if it is in sport or manual shifting.

Re: New dealer software update, lower rev limit?

Thanks Drwaldo. I was coming to terms with the previous higher rev limit just being in my head. After driving it a bit more, I believe the newer software combo is a little more refined. It might actually rev faster and shift better now. May just be shorter from an elapsed time perspective due to that rather than a perceived lower rev limit.
