My iPhone paired immediately with another Jeep when they were doing initial testing, whereas about three different phone types failed with mine! That's when they started looking more deeply before concluding there was a fault.
Update. Dealer called me today and said that they had had Uconnect working temporarily and then failed again. Advised that a new "instrument control module" being sent overnight so at this stage Media Centre not changed out. I'm OK with this but curious to know what this is. I thought RHP 731N had Uconnect integrated but looking at my build sheet I can also see a separate item to RHP unit labelled as RSQS Uconnect Voice Command with Bluetooth. Googling this finds the Chrysler parts catalogue which also suggests a separate module.
The diagnosis also makes sense in that the Pairing button was greyed out as if Uconnect was not present although voice recognition for all nav and radio functions works.
Any experts out there that know what is happening here? I'd like some knowledge for an intelligent conversation with dealer if this does not resolve the issue.
Update. Visited dealer today. There is an apparent fault in Bluetooth part of unit and if it cannot be resolved by Monday by Chrysler Technical they are planning to fit a new head unit Tuesday.
Overall, I was impressed with service and promptness as well as immediate offer of loaner Jeep now if I wanted it (I didn't) and next week when I take it in to resolve. I would today's experience to what I was receiving at Lexus, so impressed vs many here and has taken edge off disappointment. Also helps that I'm really enjoying driving the vehicle and everything else is faultless , so far.
I'll do another update next week. Hopefully this will end well.
Kudos to the Aussie dealers! offering a loaner for a blue tooth issue!! WOWOWOW. In the states we cant get a loaner even if our Jeep is on fire!
