No LaneSense

Son and law just took delivery of his Grand Cherokee Limited with Technology package. Both he and I assumed (incorrectly obviously) that the tech package would have come with LaneSense like my new Cherokee has. Evidently none of the GC's offer this feature and there is no sign that the 2015's will have it either. Does anyone know why the Cherokee and the new 200 has such a feature and the GC does not offer it? Something to do with the front wheel drive orientation on the Cherokee and 200 allows such a feature. Love to hear some reasoning! Thanks

Different level of electronic architecture. ........14 is not capable of that yet. 2016 most likely.

Re: No LaneSense

The Jeep instructional video says that the cherokee uses a camera in the front to help detect when the driver drifts out of their lane. Since the GC doesn't have a front camera, this may be part of the reason too.

The FCW/ACC system has camera behind the windshield.
See Owner Manual: Understanding the features of your vehicle.
There is a warning to clean front windshield.
The radar sensor is installed below the front bumper not the camera.
