Noise TSB shifting

I have a JGC 2012 Laredo 3.6 US model with a couple of strange problems that I sure could use an opinion on.

I purchased this vehicle in January of 2012 and it was fine for about the first 3 months. I started noticing a pinging/knocking detonation sound (at least that is what I think it is) when I'd drive up a hill, in 2nd gear or over 2,000 RPM. Essentially under load. The noise seems to come from the drivers side of the engine. I never hear it idling or under 2,000 RPM. At faster engine speeds it's difficult to hear due to the other noise.

So, I took the vehicle into the dealer and they couldn't duplicate the problem (although it still does it). The tech said that they would try a flash based on TSB: 18-050-11 (http://www.wk2jeeps.com/tsb/tsb_wk2_1805011.pdf).

That didn't help the pinging detonation problem at all.

But, what it did do was make the shifting harsher and more aggressive. It almost seems that the transmission isn't adapting to the driving conditions now and of course the noise in the engine area is still there.

Back at the dealer, I begged them to reflash to the original factory setup and they said it couldn't be done, that Jeep would not allow it or maybe technically it can't be done. I don't know.

Any ideas on how I should proceed ?
