off road 2 position

I am having a hard time trying to get my cherokee overland in the off road 2 position, when it is in the park mode with engine running should I be able to get it to rise to off road 2 position ? I can only get it to off road 1 position , even turning the mode selector to rock position will not get it to rise .Any help would be great I think it is my error but not sure if it is dealer issue . Thank you

Re: off road 2 position

Should go to OR2 without issue while parked.

Re: off road 2 position

Yup. What he said ^

I've been doing this for the past two weeks showing it off. I have never timed it but I'd hazard a guess that it takes about 30-45 seconds from Entry/Exit height to go all the way up to OR2. All while sitting in park.

Re: off road 2 position

What they said. I use the off road two position every day with no problems whatsoever. Have it checked by your dealer.

Re: off road 2 position

When I try to go to or2 it just sits their and the small light blinks like it is trying to get their but it just sits and blinks, and on my dash it shows the up symbol for it but it never gets to the or2 level and stops blinking

Re: off road 2 position

Sounds like the system is low. It moves up and down among the other settings but it just doesn't have enough in the tanks to push up to the required OR2 height. So if it is low, was it that way from the factory or do you have a small leak that needs finding?

Re: off road 2 position

I am now having the same problem except it won't go into OR1 either. The light flashes but no graphic on the EVIC. It goes up to normal ride height and down to park position with no problem. I also suspect it is a loss of gas pressure. I would expect the entire system to quit if the gas continues to leak out but so far that hasn't happened.

Re: off road 2 position

Mine too. A 2012 Overland, ten months old and 5200 on the odometer. Last week when I checked it , would go into off road 1 but not 2. This week it will not go into OR 1.

Seem to be a common problem. If you do a search on this site you will see many post ref this problem.

Re: off road 2 position

Thank you all for the help I will bring back to dealer with my bad left head that they have to replace .I guess the air suspension is going to be a problem from the start .I thought I might get a few years out of it before it started to screw up. I better get a quote on extended warranties quick !!!!!

Re: off road 2 position

I haven't taken my in yet for not reaching off 2. decided to give it another try today. The light kept flashing for or2 however it look like it made the lift. I recycle the engine (trun off/back on) and the lights stop blinking and showed it was in off road 2 position.

Guessing now it is electrical/software and not a problem with the air lift Anyone else experience this too that can give some insight as to what maybe the problem?
