I have left a message with my service tech to find out which converter they have orderd for me. I hope they knew enough to do some digging and ask the question I have asked. It is coming from Detroit and should be here in a couple days.

I will keep everyone udpated.
Thanks for posting the part numbers. I guess I have a rebuilt converter in mine. Must be why it shudders worse than the original that came in my vehicle.
I will check with my dealer to see what they say about 0473652AB. Previously they told me that the Chrysler Tech knew of a few of the newer converters that may be able to be pulled from Chryslers test facility to fix my problem, but was almost positive those went to fix other Jeeps with this issue.

If you get the shudder with the converter locked, the converter replacment is not the cure for your problems.
My second service reciept did say "when converter goes into partial lock up a vibration s felt."

Re: Ohh noooooessss, I have the shudder :(

They received the RL051241AA converter today.

This is what they want to put into the Jeep.

EDIT: Service Manager did some checking.

RL051241AA is a relabel (need to send core back) and supercedes the 04736352AB. They are claiming this is the new part and is supposed to be the fix..........oh boy, guess we are going to be doing number 3 with a very good chance of #4 on the horizon

so i am clear, the RL051241AA is the new part that they are telling me hasn't been made yet? And is the same model that they placed in my Jeep with no fix?

Re: Ohh noooooessss, I have the shudder :(

This is all really disheartening, and frankly making me a bit nervous about the Overland I just ordered. Put down a $900.00 "refundable" deposit last weekend so it's going to be several weeks before it's in.

Guess I'll just have to keep an eye here, to see if any of this gets resolved before I decide if I'm going to take it or not??

Real shame.

Has this problem affected most everyone?

Re: Ohh noooooessss, I have the shudder :(

no not everyone, and some of the vehicles with shudder have been corrected with the TSB. I am going into my dealer tomorrow and not leaving until I can get a solid answer on what model# is the correct fix and when it is to be manufactured. I have gone back and forth from the Chrysler case department and my dealer with no solid answer on when this will be resolved. Friday Chrysler told me I have two options, either wait for the new part or persue the lemon law. And when I asked for the details on the new part, they said I have to contact the parts manager at my dealer for that info.

Chrysler actually suggested that you pursue the lemon law? That's interesting PR...

Re: Ohh noooooessss, I have the shudder :(

I am still optimistic that they will develop a fix for this. This car is so high profile for the new Chrysler. People are reading about these issues and hesitating. Chrysler can't afford that. If they do nothing word will get out beyond these forums. I haven't left reviews with Edmunds.com yet. And TrueDelta sends me a reminder every month to report problems and complaints. I couldn't be the only one that would do that. Sergio M. Has told everyone it isn't business as usual. Everybody wants him and Chrysler to prove it. I think they will figure out how to satisfy us.

A bunch of people pursuing lemon law refunds would be really damaging. I can't believe it would get there.

Yeah it was a little off putting and maybe it was because of my requests. I told the guy on the phone that I did not want to hang up the phone until I had a definite answer from Chrysler on what they were going to do for me. I asked for model #'s, manufacturing dates, and where I was on the list to recieve the part I needed, and if that was unknown I told him i am giving Chrysler a good faith chance to make this right before I pursued the lemon law and I wanted a replacement vehicle. His response was as I stated above, basically F your request for a replacement and here are your two options.

I am sure they will make this right, but why am I, the customer, having to spend so much time and put so much effort into calling them to get a little info on what I am waiting for and what I should expect to make this situation right? Their service does not match the intended quality of the product they are producing.

If you goal is to get a new vehicle going through customer service is not the way. I would let the dealer know that is what you want and let them make the call. I believe it is a zone manager that would have to make the decision and if you are getting another jeep I would think the dealer would be happy to try and make it happen. Whatever way you go it will cost you they will charge milege for what you have driven it. Even under the lemon laws they normally charge for what the vehicle has been driven. If your goal is to just be given a replacement vehicle that won't happen in any case. If you do decide you want a buyback I would have the dealer pursue it that's your best bet.
