End of day, all test were complete, nothing stood out. They sent word into Chrysler and expect to hear back tomorrow morning.

That is where we are at.

1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 , 9 ,10.......nope still pissed

So, I call my service provider today and get an update. She was supposed to call me back this morning and didn't, and there was a reason.

So after the results (or lack thereof) of the testing was sent to Chyrsler they responded with "that is how a Jeep drives" AND "the driver maybe needs to learn how to drive"......I am not $hitting you. My service advisor said she wasn't going to tell me that but wanted to be honest with me about the last part. She is trying to get another Jeep with similar miles to see if it can be replicated. If it can be replicated, it is normal........LOL, you have got to be kidding me.

She talked to her regional rep and said that he said this isn't over and that is not what we should tell our customers. So I continue to wait, but, with my Jeep back in my hands, I missed it

I think it is outrageous to tell that to customers. Business as usual at Chrysler I suppose. Oh, but we are supposed to be moved by their commercials...

So the Regional Tech Advisor wants to repalce the entire exhaust on the Jeep with another from the lot. I will keep everyone updated as this goes along, the dealer is still trying to fix it and I have been assured that STAR will not stop working on it until it fixes the problem (and I have instructed by my lawyer not to refuse any service).

^MPT, seems very odd that it would go from a point where the dealer cannot replicate any shudder and "that is how a jeep drives", to let's replace the exhaust. the exhaust in and of itself seems like a very far fetched reason to cause shudder unless it is vibration related. what happened in between? did you file your complaint?

I started a complaint with chrysler with the 2nd attempt, I have only recieved contact from them once, and it was to collect information. I gave my lawyer the go ahead yesterday to start the case, he reviewed the information I gave him and he was confident he could help.

I don't get either why they would attempt to fix it several times, and then say that is how it is? Both techs (one was a senior tech and the other a regular transmission tech) felt and were able to replicate the problem.

The exhaust was a suggestion by a Regional Tech Advisor (?)

I am not sure what to feel anymore. I feel the dealer is trying (or are doing an extremly good job appearing to try) to help. The chrysler help line isn't helpful at all at this point. The STAR is leading us in the dark (at least that is the picture I have been painted).

At this point, I would not buy another 5.7/5spd combo. I don't want to give up on Jeeps entirely. I think they are a great vehicles, I clearly got one that has some problems, and I really am interested in the new SRT8. Earlier when they were helping I would have taken a direct replacement, at this point, if this is their stance, I don't want another combo that has a history of a problem that has been unable to be solved. Obviously, the chances of me getting another are incredible slim, but it isn't a chance I will take again.
