Oil change indicator

I just took my Grand Cherokee in for its first oil change at the dealer. The indicator says "10 miles since last reset" but the percentage indicator is at 33%. Shouldn't this have been reset back to 100%? Did they do something wrong or should I just try to reset it again and see if it goes to 100%?

Sounds like they didn't reset it. Its amazing how many service departments forget to do this. I always check before I drive off and make them do it.

I don't think there's any harm in resetting it yourself.

Re: Oil change indicator

Reset again... its very easy 10 second job.. (According to the manual, try reset again if reset does not work correctly)
Reset procedure is... press start button twice without press a brake... then check no engine is running but "RUN" is on in the indicator. Press a gas pedal three times in 10 seconds.. turn-off a car by pressing a start button..

Re: Oil change indicator

Thanks. Looks like the reset did the trick. I just hope they actually did change the oil and didn't forget everything lol.

You sometimes have to reset more than once. On my first oil change when I did a reset it reset the mileage since last reset to 0 but the percentage only went to 55% so I reset again and that time it went to 100%.
