Oil Change Indicator Won't Reset

Just did my first oil change in my 2011 GC Overland, and can't get the "oil change" to reset. I've followed instructions in the manual about turning the igntion to "on" but not starting, depressing accelerator 3x within 10 seconds, then turning off. But it still doesn't reset. Anybody have this problem & the solution?

Thanks in advance,
Carolyn

Re: Oil Change Indicator Won't Reset

I was having problems when I did it too a month ago. If I remember right I was depressing the pedal too soon.

1 one thousand - 2 one thousand - 3 one thousand. Normal speed...not auctioneer mode.

Re: Oil Change Indicator Won't Reset

Ditto about the pedal speed. Did ours about an hour ago, and with pokey pedal pushes it cleared the message on the first try.

Re: Oil Change Indicator Won't Reset

I am having the same problem, the dealer failed to reset it (go figure), I will go out now and try at a slower pace and see if this helps. Thanks Guys!!

Re: Oil Change Indicator Won't Reset

I still cannot get mine to reset. Do you hold the pedal down for a second or is it that you should go slow while pressing down? By the third pump my pedal barely moves as it has built up, is that normal?

Re: Oil Change Indicator Won't Reset

Wrong pedal. Accel pedal is what you want.

Be sure to order the Owner's Manual. It's free.

Wouldn't have helped, this was one of those times when you think you know something so no matter how many times I read it, my brain puts my "knowledge" in place of reality.
