Re: Oil Change Question

I change mine at about 1200 miles. Hate to do it, but on the '11 hemis the book says every 8,000 miles OR six months whichever comes first, six months always comes first for me. All city driving, but the oil comes out looking as fresh as it went in.

Re: Oil Change Question

i've been splitting the difference between my old school (every 3k) and the new school (evic recommendations) and i have been changing the oil in the 6k - 8k range.

i know that, depending on climate, moisture gets into the crankcase and i know that some solvents from gasoline can get into the crankcase, so over time the oil gets contaminated. does it happen in such a small increment that 10k oil changes are ok? i don't know. gotta factor in a lot of things: climate, driving trends/habits, quality of oil used, owner neurosis and obsession, ...

like was said before, might be cheap therapy to change the oil a little more often, especially if you plan to keep the vehicle for a long time.

Re: Oil Change Question

dealer told me 7000miles or 6 months whichever comes first. I have a 2012 with only 8200 miles so mine is every 6 months
