Oil pressure

My 2014 V8 has a check engine light, and the dealer told me it is the oil pressure sensor, so not urgent. The display shows 100PSI, not matter engine speed. What oil pressure range do you see on your V8-equipped Grand Cherokees?

Re: Oil pressure

Same exact thing happening on my brand new Summit V8. Dealer told me the sensors are on b/o and very common issue... but no recall made yet. kinda frustrating on a new jeep.
Engine light one... psi 100 at all times.

There is a tsb on the oil pressure sensor so common issue. My psi on v8 varies but not near 100

Re: Oil pressure

My '14 V8 shows 30 ish - mid 50's during normal driving. I actually quizzed my service adviser, whom I trust, about the apparent low readings and he said it can show low and be fine but that the oil pressure sensors are a soft spot and to bring it in for a replacement.

You should too.

Re: Oil pressure

a) sad but if a part is not in stock it is liable to be "not important"
b) what is a bother is that if something goes wrong that needs quick sevice, the CEL is already on. I would insist that advice like "ignore the light" be written on your receipt.

ps my '12 V6 has a two stage oil system and normally shows 37-39 psi at 70 mph cruise. I do not know if later hemis got the same "improvement".

Re: Oil pressure

I had time today, so stopped into the dealership in Tustin just to have them order the part, and learned they had it in stock. Even better, the mechanic had time to install it while we waited. I had not notice before, but the bad part was causing it to show oil pressure of 100 psi with the engine off.
