Re: Outside Temperature Sensor Problem

If you have no other dealer, bring it in and describe the problem to them (make sure it sounds JUST like what the TSB says... like "It takes a really long time to update the outside temp" ) Then a few hours after you drop it off... call your service writer and say "I just found this on the internet! and give them the TSB

I am lucky, i just come in with the TSB or tell him the # on the phone.. and he says "Ok"

Re: Outside Temperature Sensor Problem

2 days post service and I nearly drove into a tree noticing my outside temperature changing immediately after exiting the garage.

Re: Outside Temperature Sensor Problem

It is interesting, that they don't instruct the tech to do a full reset after doing a flash of the BCM in that TSB. Maybe they don't have any computer systems designers on staff...

Wrap some aluminum foil around the tree so your ACW will go off
next time.

Technical Service Bulletin.

Its an update from Chrysler, to fix a problem. Not a recall, but a repair. So if a customer has a problem, there might be a TSB to fix it.

here are all of them

Jeep Grand Cherokee WK2 - 2011-2016 Grand Cherokee Service Bulletins and Recalls

***NOTE TO ALL*** your dealer may not find the TSB by description.. tell them itslisted as "FLASH: VEHICLE ENHANCEMENT" released on 6/11/14

Re: Outside Temperature Sensor Problem

I printed it and highlighted in yellow the 2 issues I was having of the 12 and handed it to them. temp sensor not working and the alarm going off randomly. they didn't question it at all and did it

- Engine may turn off, after the vehicle is remote started and then unlocking the vehicle with the liftgate passive entry.
I am checking if this TSB applys to me, the other day I remote started with the doors locked, hit the little round button on the rear liftgate and nothing happened, no unlock or lock, then hit the rear door opener button and it opened fine and car stayed running. If that what you were experiencing or something different?

Re: Outside Temperature Sensor Problem

Good reminder Briant. My lift gate needs to be pushed twice sometimes to open from my key fob. Somewhat annoying but not the biggest deal.

Re: Outside Temperature Sensor Problem

I noticed since I got the "Hot Cabin" tsb applied that when starting my vehicle after it sits for 7+ hours the outside temp can take anywhere from 2-10 minutes to update, is this normal or is this what is considered a long time and I should have the dealer check?

it should not take 10 minutes to update. after the 08-053-14 "vehicle enhancements" flash mine updates after a few seconds, working as it should now. Something else that this flash corrected was the erratic rain sense wipers that just had no rhyme or reason how they reacted to a little rain. now they work as you would think they should. it wasn't something on the update list for the flash corrected items but it seems to have fixed it. So definitely a recommended flash in my opinion overall.
