Re: overland 4wd stuck in sand

QDII was a single $795.00 option on my '14 Overland. Just the way I wanted it too because I wanted the 20s.

Where all indications are your computer made the decision exactly bass-ackwards where it sent the power to the set of wheels already spinning.

Unless it was a really steep hill, 4 Hi might [or might not] have behaved differently in torque steering.... but the behavior as described seems busted.

BTW My window sticker, 2012 overland, says Quadra-trac II 4WD ,also Selec-Terrain System
I have the same exact setup as you. To activate 4WD Low, stop the vehicle, shift into Neutral, then press the 4WD Low button. Same process to deactivate.

Wish it had been for MY 13...I would have opted for it if that were the case.

I know you didnt have the issue that the fix was intended for but have you had your jeep in for the reflash? People were having issues with the jeep saying service 4wd when driving in sand because of aome computer error. Jeep came out with a fix for it a while back. If you haven't had that done you might want to. It might help you out a little.

It has never been to the dealer except for oil chg. Never get any "service' messages. Have put in 4wd low before and driven along sand and rocky trail
'Mohave road' w/ no problem. This time , however, tried to cross a sand/gravel berm in a wash, about a foot high/deep. The rt front just dug a hole, the left less of a depression.
My plan is to go out there again(with shovel) and keep it in 4wd high, sand mode and see how it does.

Don't forget to air down (15 psi to 20 psi is a good range). Its also adviseable to have a jack with a 12" x 12" board to put underneath the jack along with a shovel. These are the minimum basics you will need for sand driving.

Limited slip rear in QDll, is only available if you get the HEMI. I have a Limited with the OR2 package, V6, so I believe I do not have the electronic limited slip

Actually it is better to be rolling In neutral less than 5 mpg if I remember correctly.
